Born in New Orleans and live in Baton Rouge. I can say that the absolute best shrimp and grits are found at Dante's Kitchen! Also try the eggs Benedict. Never disappointed.

Our sons took us their for Sunday brunch for my birthday. A party of 6, they don't take reservations, and yet we were seated right away! Great, quick service and what a meal!!! We all thoroughly enjoyed our orders. I had a eggs and hash with a horseradish cream...yum, we had peach blinis with fresh peach purée. We definitely will... More

Casual and colorful decor, great food and service. I ordered the mussels, which were delicious, and the beet salad, also very good, except that the spinach was unnecessarily overly salty. I would definitely go back.

The flavors, portions-for-cost, and atmosphere were phenomenal. Service wasn't the best - my companion and I like to order one or two dishes at a time, and keep going until we've had our fill, in one way or another. Our Server wanted us to order all our courses at one time. I refused, and she was difficult, but in the... More

A view overlooking the walk in was not great. The food was good and well prepared but lacked the WOW factor and was a little pricey for the portion. Nothing bad and worth another trip

I loved Dante's Kitchen. The staff is friendly and and restaurant has a cozy at-home atmosphere. The food is simply outstanding. I had the Chicken Under a Brick (cooked and seasoned to perfection) and for dessert the Chocolate Pudding (which came cold with a dense texture and rich flavor, amazing!) This is a nice trek outside and away of the... More

I took my son-in-law here for his birthday. Our waiter was fantastic, very attentive. The food was good. However, then a group of 3 people came in and were seated next to us. One man in the party was so loud I couldn't hear my daughter sitting right next to me. He proceeded to say filthy things unacceptable to be... More

Dante's is tucked away in an overgrown building that resembles a home. We actually walked by it once. It was worth the confusion. The interior is sprinkled with local art and has a hipster vibe found in riverbend. We took the St. Charles street car up from downtown and enjoyed the ride through a very posh uptown. The interior is... More

We came here without reservations on a Sunday night. Hostess said it would be at least an hour+. I went on Open Table and there was an opening, so I reserved right there and was seated in 15 minutes. While we were waiting we ordered a drink at the bar (there was really no waiting area). The bartender seemed annoyed,... More

The food is superb, the ambience inviting, and the service very gracious. The menu is a little out of the ordinary and that difference is welcome. There is a special facility with fish.
