Good Food, and not Crowded

Dante's Kitchen is not in a touristy location. we found the food to be very good and the ambiance was nice; funky remodeled home.

1 1/2 hours wait later, we were seated. Spoon bread was tasty. But the menu was highly limited. My sister was disappointed with her duck, especially the rice and bean sides. The steak was cooked well but pulled pork on top does not work for me. I fail to understand why our friends recommended this restaurant. I fear, I cannot.

Everything about Dante's Kitchen was nice. It is not a remarkable restaurant, but does a nice job of making you comfortable while presenting good food. Above average, but not amazing.

My family loves a great brunch, and Dante's Kitchen was on my daughter's "radar" for quite some time. The restaurant serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday and doesn't take reservations for brunch, though it does for dinner and highly recommended. So, we made sure to arrive when they opened and were seated promptly. The restaurant is a casual spot located... More

Sometimes it pays to get a little off the tourist path. We had dinner one night with friends at Dante's Kitchen and it was an excellent experience. Wonderful cocktails and house made charchuterie plate to start then fish for dinner, with bread pudding for dessert. It was relaxed, delicious, and a good bargain for what we had. Would definitely try... More

5 of us on a girl's trip enjoyed a wonderful meal here. We changed our reservation time twice due to scheduling problems. They were very accommodating. It is an unassuming little place and a little difficult to find. But it offered an eclectic selection of well-prepared food and a full bar. What set it apart was a personable waiter who... More

Some friends recommended this place to us. It is very small and very beautiful with gorgeous courtyard for outdoor dining. We did not have reservations for our party of 5 but were seated anyway. We started with the cheese plate which came with house made ginger snaps. There was nothing left of the cheese plate except the board it came... More

One of the best in town. A close second to Brigtsens, in my mind. Some put it first. In either case Dante's is one of the very best in town. Lots of fresh, local fare here, prepared with care and imagination. Chef Eman Loubier never fails to please. Dante's is small, so be prepared to wait a bit if you're... More

Every time we travel to New Orleans we try a different restaurant, so we attempted to try this one. When we arrived, we were told that we had to wait fifteen minutes and we were ok with this. However, we saw in dismay when a party (same number of people than us) came and was offered a table on the... More

I go to New Orleans every year. This was my first time at Dante's. Plan to return next week. Loved the Red Fish on the Half Shell with herb salad. The waiter was great; really helpful.
