A Quiet Oasis in the Middle of Frenchmen St.

Went there for lunch during the French Quarter Festival and had great food in a quiet atmosphere, away from the maddening crowd of the Jazz Festival. Portions were large. Had the Assorted Tempura while husband had the Steak Teriyaki. Loved the Lychee Martini made with Sake.

Listen to me. Order the BBQ Eel sushi, the Frenchmen Scallops, the Wasabi House Roll, and the Baked Salmon. I'm trying to remember the names of all of the delicious dishes I've tried over my countless visits, but it's all a blur and I blame the sake. When visiting, please understand that this is NOT fast food. This is good... More

I enjoyed the food, but was ery unhappy with the treatment of patrons. When I got there the dining room was 3/4 empty. The waiter wanted to seat me at a two top on the wall, and I asked for one of the four tops. He wasn't haing any of it. They weren't at all busy. Then when I was... More

I came in at 8pm on a Thursday night. The lounge was virtually empty and the restaurant was about half full, although most were already eating. I ordered the honey shrimp appy and some sushi rolls. The appy was good but after a 45 minute wait, the rolls were not quite as good as your average mall food court serves.... More

Everything our table ordered was good but I have to compliment, especially, their Gyoza. One of my favorite dishes to order and often disappointing - but not at Wasabi!! It was outstanding. Thank you for getting it right.

Have read other reviews. but I must disagree. The problem may have been timing or a spat among the staff. Our trip was just average at best. The fish was fresh for the most part. We had a piece or two that had passed prime. Our server seemed to have a burr in his saddle giving us minimal attention. He... More

We were hungry late(ish) at night and had been up and down Frenchmen Street looking for someplace without a line that wasn't too crowded and noisy. Frenchman was a blast with lots of people and music, but after a long night of it we wanted somewhere a little quieter. Wasabi was perfect for this. Sushi was very good and incredibly... More

Everything we ordered was amazing. Honey shrimp, tuna roll and the shrimp tempura roll are all a must. I'm glad we went. Fast and friendly service. I will definitely return when I come back to the fabulous city of New Orleans.

When my family and I come to New Orleans, we stay with friends in the Quarter who reside in close proximity to Wasabi. We ALWAYS make a point to stop in one night here during our trip. Tonight was no different. Peter was our server and though he was the only one in the dining area, he was able to... More
