Great food...undermined ...

Food gets a 5 - overall experience makes it a 3 - We made a reservation for 9, at 9:15 were still waiting for table, and basically got a "nothing I can do from the hostess". At 9:20, we were debating leaving or eating at the bar...when finally seated it was 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us... read more

Had a lovely dinner with 4 friends and the menu had something for everyone. I had the Crudo di Pesce which was very fresh and tasty. The escargot was served out of the shell on bruschetta - very good. They have a small private table, up a few steps, out of the main dining room. The table was perfect for... More

I was in New Orleans for almost two weeks, and I think this was my best meal. I had a Pimm's Spritz cocktail, which was quite tasty but a bit spritzy for me (hey, I don't usually order cocktails, how was I to know?) With dinner, I had a glass of dry Riesling, very good. The wine list by the... More

We went during lunch and the restaurant filled up quickly, I can see why! Excellent bloody mary (I am a self-proclaimed connoisseur), wonderful duck confit. Next time I go I will get the gnocchi carbonara; the table next to us had it and looked delicious. I ordered the veal meatball parmigiana and my husband had the fried flounder on brioche.... More

Rounded down from 4.5 stars. One of the few restaurants we could squeeze into for NYE dinner. Knew that the prix fixe menu was going to cost $100 per person, so was expecting big things, especially given the normal prices on the menu. Overall, we had a great dinner, but not $100 per person great. Perhaps $75 good. Frog leg... More

Magazine Street in New Orleans follows the bend in the Mississippi River from Downtown up through Uptown to Carrollton Avenue and is major artery for small, elegant shops, galleries, and restaurants. Historically important in the life of the city, the street has become a bustling mecca after the ravages of Katrina. A jewel in the dining scene is tiny Lilette... More

We have dined at Lilette a number of times over the years. It has been one of our favorites. Perhaps it was just a bad night, but, the New Years prix fix dinner was both disappointing in taste and preparation as well as price. There was unanimous disappointment among our group of 8. We remain hopeful the staff can return... More

We ate here on NYE. It was packed. The food was delicious, and the service was flawless. The menu was pre-set, and we got a wine pairing. Delicious. I even got an extra half glass of wine, which was a nice perk. The ambiance was just what we were looking for--sophisticated without being pretentious. The only downside is that the... More

We had the $100 a person (alcohol was extra) special New Years Eve and it was excellent. Choose one from set of 2 choices for 4 courses with a lagniappe of a crispy frog leg before the first course, Each course was exquisite: beautiful and tasty. I had tiny but lovely shell fish with a Mignonette sauce on each piece... More

Dined here for lunch during the holidays on a local's recommendation. Just the trip alone along Magazine Street is worth it!! It reminded us of a countryside French bistro. It's a busy place, but the staff was extremely efficient and welcoming. Two of our party dined on the daily special (drum fish) while others had the chicken Marsala and the... More
