Great menu selections, wine list

Recently dined at Lilette on a weeknight. Decently busy and as always, lovely ambiance. This was my third visit. I have to say my first visit was my favorite experience. Started with cocktails and the Sizzling Shrimp. I thought the shrimp were ok, under-seasoned in my opinion. Cocktails were... read more

We've been to Lilette quite a few times, lunch and dinner. Great service every time. Menu offers a nice selection. Great wine and cocktail menu. Don't miss the sizzling shrimp appetizer. Nice location in uptown New Orleans with lovely ambiance. Can't wait to return.

What a delightful establishment. Clean and proper with a talented bartender and excellent chef, Lilette proved to be a very good choice for our holiday lunch. They call themselves a mix of the French and the Italian. The wine selection is excellent and the Italian bread served was like being back in Florence. Our cocktails were great and ordering went... Lilette is a smaller, charming restaurant nestled on a corner in uptown New Orleans. The atmosphere is similar to many places in Paris, and the decor is too. Where Lilette really shines is with the food. Appetizer was a clam dish and it was light and delicious and not filling at all, which is how it should be. The sun... More

On a recent visit, decided to try Lilette on a friends recommendation. Great atmosphere, good bar, and excellent wait staff. We had the truffle toast, shrimp and wedding soup as appetizers. Then I had the duck, and others had the drum and steak. All were incredible. Can't wait for our next visit.

The ambiance is welcoming, the service was very good but the kitchen was slow. I had sizzling shrimp to start and they were good but not a knock out. Then I ordered muscovy duck for the main. Everything was swimming in salt, the duck, the veggies. Not a particularly imaginative dish anyway. Perhaps the chef brined the breast and the... More

I've been eating here off and on for years since the chef first opened, perhaps in 2001? The food is consistently outstanding in terms of quality and service. Ingredients are locally sourced whenever possible and quickly flown in when not. I love some of the long-standing, or signature items, such as the Shaved Hawaiian hearts of palm with parmiggiano, lemon... More

In a town famous for great food this is one of the best. Everything is done well. Atypical appetizers, great extensive wine list including excellent wines for prices that are fair. Several reasonably priced Grand Cru's. Great location on Magazine street. Relaxed beautiful clean interior with a nice lighting and atmosphere.Tartar fish appetizer and escargot were excellent. Duck entrée is... More

Most recent visit 11.28.15. Lilette is a long-standing favorite. The space is very nice with high ceilings and tasteful appointments that impart a subtle impression of a nice French bistro. We prefer to visit for late lunch, as on this occasion, due to the noise at dinner (they're always crowded for dinner - a reliable sign of quality). Service is... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighborhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
