Description: Established in 1982 Welcome to the Nirvana Indian Cuisine. Please take a few minutes to look around. The paintings and sculptures you are seeing are windows to India's ancient spiritual world. After visiting the curry houses of Europe, especially of London, my late father (Har G. Keswani) was inspired to bring Indian culture and food to New Orleans. Since 1982, the Keswani family has presented the unique cuisine of India to the New Orleans community. Enjoy your piece of Nirvana Anjay Keswani

We enjoyed are dnner at Nirvana. It was a business dinner so taste was all we were after...and we got that 10fold. Not great place for atmosphere or romance it's kind of frayed around the edges and has a slight Denny's feel to it despite kitschy Indian decor. Bottom line, Food? Great! Price? A little high. Atmosphere? pedestrian

It was my first visit to this restaurant. It was decorated nicely with Indian touch visible clearly. The service was good and most of the servers seem to be either Indian or Asian as they were able to understand Hindi as well. I ordered tea first but it was not really good and I didn't enjoy it. After that I... More

Have not been in a while but I am so glad I made it back. I am normally stuck on the same items over and over again but I wanted to try something new so I got the Lamb Sikander which was thinly sliced leg of lamb sautéed with onions and tomatoes. It was amazing the flavors just jumped out,... More

We visited this restaurant because there was no other offering Indian cuisine. The buffet is something you should definitely avoid. The food is stone cold. And yeah, if you order a LA carte, they bring your check way before they serve you the food. So my opinion - pls try your best to avoid it.

NOLA is known for cuisine, but not for the breadth that might be found in a Houston, NY, Chicago, or the like, so a great non-Cajun/Creole/Southern joint is always welcome. With a name like Nirvana, you might expect a blissful experience. And on previous visits, they came close. The food is actually tasty and replicates an authentic experience very well,... More

We ordered take-out from here one of the nights we were in NOLA this Thanksgiving. The Veg Biryani was especially good. Paneer masala was great as well. Conveniently located on Magazine. Staff were very helpful on the phone, and gave us clear directions to get there when we had trouble navigating because most of Canal St was shut down due... More

We went to this restaurant because this was the only restaurant we could find in New Orleans! It wasn't bad though. Their food was good with lot of options in their menu. It is a bit far to get to from Downtown but we took #11 bus and we got there in about 20 mins! My rating for this restaurant... More

Been there couple of times. Could be better, food was ok. The service and ambience was 4 stars. Food taste wasn't the best, felt like tandoor chicken had food color added.

The bad first. The buffet is just ok, but reasonably priced. What I love to do is order take out with a bunch of friends and try a variety of items. My favorites are biryani, vindaloo, samosas, chat, and rugda pati. The waiters for take out are always very nice--don't forget to tip. The dining room is just ok, as... More

Visit this place only if you don't find any other place. Only Indians will know the quality of food in this place. We are Indians felt the food in the buffet were spoilt. Restaurant owners are very clever, to hide the smell they added lemon pieces to the spoiled rice. We were fooled by the good reviews in TA. Definitely... More
