Established in 1982 Welcome to the Nirvana Indian Cuisine. Please take a few minutes to look around. The paintings and sculptures you are seeing are windows to India's ancient spiritual world. After visiting the curry houses of Europe, especially of London, my late father (Har G. Keswani) was inspired to bring Indian culture and food to New Orleans. Since 1982, the Keswani family has presented the unique cuisine of India to the New Orleans community. Enjoy your piece of Nirvana Anjay Keswani

Nice experience

We were there having a dinner and we got a good surprise when we tried their Tandoori Chiken, it was a good experience and the service was fine.

We were largely disappointed with the food in New Orleans, until we stumbled across Nirvana. Delightful and genuine Indian cuisine, served by friendly and knowledgable staff. We loved it so much we went back the next night. If you are craving a change from the tourist fare of oysters and Po'boys, you should make the effort to find Nirvana :)

I could eat Indian food all week long if I lived next to Nirvanas. I dined in several times over the last year and always had a great experience. The service has always been good and the food has always been delicious. Their Chicken Tikka Masala and their Lamb Achari are two of my favorites. I never got the opportunity... More

Wonderful selection of vegetarian and chicken favorites the Tandoori Chicken is delectable and the fresh baked naan is almost worth the cost of the buffet itself. Convenient to uptown and the warehouse district this is a no brainer for quality lunch fare.

New Orleans is known for its amazing food. That's not true when it comes to Indian cuisine. Nirvana is the best Indian restaurant in the area, but their primary competition would be the curried chicken salad at Whole Foods. I loved this place as a kid and young adult. Now with other Indian and Pakistani restaurants under my belt, Nirvana... More

This was my first trip to US and I was missing Indian food a lot before one evening, I along with two of my colleagues went to Nirvana. Food was very tasty and menu comes with lot of varieties of Indian veg and no veg food. We ordered CHOLE MASALA, BUTTER NAAN and BIRYANI and all the dishes were very... More

This place offers excellent Indian dishes, with lots of different types of naan and some wonderful vegetarian choices. The lunch buffet is hit or miss, and sometimes not as hot as it should be, but if you order off the menu, you will not be disappointed.

Went to Nirvana several years ago. On this trip, as we were close to Magazine Street and craving some ethnic food, remembered Nirvana. Arrived half an hour before the afternoon buffet ended and it looked a little old up so decided to order off the menu. Had something entirely new to us, Sabji Kali Milch, described as vegetables in a... More

Somehow, not so impressed. I mean I liked the food and atmosphere. A bit overpriced. Average service at best.
