I use to frequent to Mother's with my family when I was a little girl (I was born and raised in New Orleans). I loved Mother's then, and I love it even more now. Walking into Mother's after 20 something years, I was overwhelmed with emotions, it just felt so good to be back. It was a Monday evening, so... More

Went to Mother's Restaurant after hearing the buzz that it was must to eat there. We drove pass it on our way to a tour and there was a very long line. We anticipated eating there as soon as we got back. The staff was very nice when we were ordering our food and also the wait staff at the... More

The food terribly overpriced. We paid $25 for two sandwiches. We went with their signature po' boy. Really good and filling.

This place was horrific! We ordered food, gave a tip and then went and sat down at one of the many vacant tables in the front of the restaurant. A staff member came over and rudely said go sit out the back we are filling up these tables last. I then asked where out the back and she shouted and... More

It moves fast! We came on a busy Saturday. We had the soft shell crab poboy and dirty rice, plus a Bloody Mary. It was delicious! The staff was busy yet friendly. The restaurant is twice as big as it looks. Not everyone can be made happy which is the only reason for the less than great reviews I've seen.... More

...and, truth be told, it was good. But there were so many more interesting places that didn't have 45 minute lines, high prices, and all that. The kitchen does have an amazing throughput, but I do believe we had better grits in other places on the trip, though that might be a heresy to admit!

Home cooking at it's best. There will probably be a line outside, but it's worth the wait. The food is great and the servers are nice. You get your food fast and you'll definitely return for seconds.

Had breakfast x 3 and a lunch. The line moves quickly and the food was quite tasty and reasonably priced.

There are few places that I am willing to wait in line to eat, and none so deserving as Mothers. The long lines outside of this restaurant are in no way reflective of the slow service, but rather for the popularity of this establishment's excellent down-home food served daily with a smile. The line moves fast, and the hostess brings... More

We showed up at 9pm for a late dinner... still had to wait in line outside the door, then again once inside. My ferdi's special po'boy was delicious; not for haters of soggy bread as the gravy soaked through. My girlfriend had the gumbo which wasn't anything too special. Worth a stop, not sure if the line ever dies down.
