Hello, I highly recommend this restaurant! My girlfriend and I were told this place was an excellent place to get breakfast, and I have to concur with their opinion. We both got the Breakfast Special both times we visited the restaurant and it was consistently delicious. The next time I visit I promise to get something else, but it is... More

The wait staff were very friendly. And the biscuits great. I am not in to this kind of cafeteria dining. And the restaurant/bathrooms were disgusting which made me question the integrity of the kitchen.

We walked in the door and were told to get back outside until we finished our beverages. Where else in NOLA does that happen?? Once back inside we were told to get a menu and get in line. At this point, I don't know why we didn't leave. After a remark back to the man about his manners and customer... More

Our first morning after arrival, we walked across the street from our hotel. (Loews) for a quick breakfast. We ordered the breakfast special. Being from Canada we were used to being asked how do you want you eggs etc. Nothing! Coffee was included and it is definitely coffee just not sure what kind. We sat down around back (big place)... We stopped here for lunch and had their beef and ham special sandwich. I didn't find the best ham in the world. In fact it was quite average at best. The roast beef however was very tasty. Pretty good greasy spoon authentic eatery.

Was recommended mothers from a driver we had and to get the fried chicken so we have it a shot. It's a half hour wait buy was worth the wait. Great Southern fried chicken! Was delicious! And we both left so full. Prices seemed high at first but you get what you pay for here

when I was in high school and college this was a great place to go get po-boys and gumbo, that was a long time ago and that was probably the last time it was really good. The food is very overpriced and mediocre at best. There is so much better in this city. New Orleans food writers have a terminal problem... More

While walking and taking in the sites, I dropped in to Mother's Restaurant based on the recommendation of a tour guide. I had the gumbo. It was good but not great. The service was extremely lacking.

Do yourself a favor and skip Mother's. The food is average at best and very overpriced. You might wait quite a while in the tourist line and will be surely disappointed. For a better PoBoy try Mahoney's on Magazine Street
