They have really big tables and lots of noise, which is good for a big family group with kids. It was confusing on what to order and my husband felt like if he didn't say his order exactly right it would turn out like Seinfeld's Soup Nazi episode. There was also confusion when we sat down what we should do... More

I've always avoided this place like the plague. First, because there was always the huge line and, second, because I thought it a tourist only location with the typical almost true "Nawlins" food. Wrong. The line here is not to be seated but to be let in to the building in groups. Just inside there is a large room where... More

Mmmm...mmmm...mmm good! A friend had seen Mother's on the Food Network so we HAD to try it. There was a line out the door and inside but it moved quickly. I had the roast beef po boy with debris and my friend had the traditional shrimp po boy. The roast beef was sooooo good with the au jus. I had... More

gFirst, be prepared to wait. We arrived on Saturday and there was a long line outside the door every time we went by. On Sunday, there were around a half dozen people, so we gave it a shot. The Po Boys were huge and outstanding. Good Southern Style cooking was certainly on the menu. Once you got in the door,... More

For good, basic New Orleans classics, Mother's is the place. Don't expect any frills or high culinary experience. This is basic food prepared well and in large portions. There always seems to be a line outside the door which may be off putting. But don't worry the line moves quickly as they move people through with factory like efficiency.

Upon walking up to this place, we had to wait in line for about 10 minutes and we were handed a menu and told to make sure we knew what we wanted prior to getting inside because if not, they will get angry and pass over you. So we scanned the menu and once we got in, I was so... More

It was ok, just didn't live up to the hype. We were hoping for something fresher, different and more authentic

Hearty and delicious breakfast. We liked it so much we went twice in three days. Recommend the waffles, egg & fried ham biscuit, grits and the hot fried ham PoBoy sandwich (get there early for that as they run out of the fried ham later in the morning). Although the place can seem a little chaotic during peak hours, the... More

I like to eat good food, and this restaurant has excellent food in large portions that was pleasing to the eyes and stomach. I would definitely make this a food stop if you are in New Orleans... Chris

My boyfriend's doctor is from New Orleans. He told us about "Mother's" before our trip. There is a long line outside of the restaurant, all the time. The guy in front of us, a visitor as well, told us nicely that he was here yesterday, (obviously he likes it much!), the line moves fast. That's encouraging, I really don't like... More
