I went to Mother's recently while on a business trip to New Orleans. I had seen the restaurant prominently featured on a an episode of "Man Vs Food". Unfortunately I was disappointed. I ordered the Po Boy and a some gumbo. The sandwich was good, but nothing to brag about. Definitely not as much of the special beef stock they... more

I went to this restaurant two times once fore the po boy and another for the chicken. The food cost way more than it is worth and the service is fine but not great. The thing that ticked me off though was that after paying $27.00 for two people to eat for lunch the owner came out of the back... more

A large amount of good food, especially the ham and po boy with roast beef debris. We ate there for breakfast and a po boy for a late night meal. The ham melted in your mouth, the breakfast was a huge portion of good food and to top off a perfect meal, it was cheap. more

I knew going into this restaurant that it wasn't an upscale place. I was fine with that and really just wanted good food and service. WE went for brunch and were really upset with the service we recieved. The employees ARE NOT happy to be there, in fact they were complaining and rolling their eyes most of the time. I... more

Im from New Orleans so I felt it neccessary to eat at Mothers to see what everyone was talking about. The first word that comes to mind is tourist trap. The food was OK. Definately New Orleans comfort food, the shrimp, gumbo, potato salad and poboys all get a C rating in my book. Not great but not bad. Overpriced... more

Not a place for a relaxing meal, but a fun experience for lunch-the dining room is loud and crowded. The food is very good. Best oysters that we had in NO. The bread pudding is outstanding. It was pricy for a diner. more

We dined here on a Wednesday night. There was a substantial line at 7:30. You walk in, stand in line to order, then get a table and wait for your food. I appreciate the "throwback" charm, but to endure waiting in line to simply order and then waiting again for my food, it better be great. It was not great,... more

We ate at Mother's on a Friday morning recently for breakfast. The place was crowded and the employees just kind of bark orders at you, i.e., grab a menu, single file line, order and sit down, etc. The biscuits are very good but that's the only thing I liked about my meal. The cheese omelet had hardly any cheese and... more

The attraction is the ham po-boy with debris gravy. I had one and it was OK. Just OK. Not miuch meat, very thin gravy. You can do a lot better in New Orleans. more
