Simple, fast, and delicious

This place is like an old school diner mashed with a lunch counter all rolled up with the great taste of NOLA. Went here for breakfast with my wife and the crawfish etouffe omelet was delicious. She had the breakfast poboy with debris and that was equally good, food was awesome, albeit nap-inducing.

Our tour guide recommended this place and it didn't disappoint. Long queue outside but it moved very quickly. Po boys were amazing and it was worth seeking out this place. Highly recommended.

There may be a waiting line but the food is very good. You place your order up front after you pass the steam tables where the staff is preparing the orders, then find a table. The waiter/waitress will find you, wherever you are.

The line is long and for good reason! We ate there twice and no complaints! PoBoy the first time, with Debris...YUM! Egg and Ham biscuit the second time. DEVINE! So much food. We sat in the very back. Much quieter. Sit at the bar and you get great service!

Although I loved all the portraits of famous folks who have been there, the place wasn't to clean. There was food on the wall next to my table. Staff are really nice and the food is okay.

A must stop on every visit to New Orleans! Cafeteria style ordering is one drawback, but does allow for quicker service. Enlarged seating area since the last time I was there. I recommend the Ham steaks and eggs. Place is always crowded, so I aim for early morning breakfast.

The customer service was just horrible, they were yelling at people to more out the way, as if the restaurant is large enough for people to know where to stand. And then the food was cold, and took for real just to get syrup for the already cold pancakes I will never eat there again

Expected a line to get in but surprisingly not too terrible of an early morning wait. Once inside, confusion, noise, and very crowded tables reigned. Couldn't squeeze in our party of four at a table for four but finally found a spot at a huge table on our own in a huge noisy dining hall filled with people. The "No... More

I think Mother's has the best breakfast in all of New Orleans! There is a large variety of traditional new orleans food available for you to choose from and you know what else? The price is right!!!

Don't get me wrong, the food is fine, nothing special in this city though. Not worth the wait in line to be treated like garbage and then to over pay for the meehhh food. Do yourself a favor and walk the 4-5 blocks to Johnny's. You'll never look back.
