Very few good things to say about my June 2009 dining nightmare at Brennan's. The highlight of the meal was the fun my wife and I had writing up notes on our experience. The server was beyond arrogant. Downright condescending. When it was clear we would order off of the prix fixe side of the menu, it was though he... more

So we bough into all the hype and I made the reservation for our anniversary dinner on March 26th - Thursday. I started to get worried when we walked in and found the place deserted, while other restaurants we passed by were getting crowded. OK, not a big deal I guess, but the silence was deafening. We sat down and... more

After having been to NOLA 11 times, we finally decided to visit Brennan's. I'm so glad we did. I hate to gush and sound fake, but it was quite possibly the best dinner I've ever had. We ordered off the prix fixe menu: I had the turtle soup, Brennan salad, Shrimp Sardou and Louisiana chocolate pecan pie with ice cream.... more

I have been reading how Brennan's is THE place to go for breakfast in the French Quarter....so, I went for the breakfast. It was over-priced, too froo-froo (if that is a word!), and the atmosphere for breakfast was awkward even though they are trying to push it as a casual breakfast dining experience. The food actually made me feel sick... more

As a local New Orleanian who had never eaten at Brennan's, I thought my out of town mother would enjoy this touristy take on Southern fine dining. What a disappointment. While we were seated on time, the service thereafter was spotty at best. One of our waiters smelled like B.O. My biggest complaint was that my easy to prepare entree... more

I and four others visited Brennan's for brunch (May 17, 2009). The entire meal was so poorly managed that it is difficult to decide where to begin. 1. A so-called “fine dining” establishment should not require guests to crowd cheek to jowl in the bar while waiting for a hostess to scream out their names before directing them to their... more

After hearing positive and negative reviews of Brennans (and being locals with a plethora of wonderful restaurants in which to choose for brunch) we chose Brennan's for a special occasion. We made our reservations way in advance, and also requested an indoor dining room overlooking the courtyard, not wanting an interior room. When we arrived for our appointed time, we... more

After 45 years (on our honeymoon) we returned to Brennan's last week and we were not disappointed . We had made reservations for ourseles and two other couples and upon arrival we were seated at once. I must admit the price of the brunch had increased a little in the past 45 years , but the meal was first quality.... more

As a frequent poster on a major travel site, I was somewhat bombarded when I mentioned I planned to hit Brennans at 9 AM on my last day before catching a plane. "It's so touristy", "it's not what it used to be", and "it's just overpriced and nothing special" were the usual comments. But I went anyway. There was much... more

I read some of the other reviews and I have to say, if you don't do your homework, you might not have an enjoyable experience. First, make a reservation and request what kind of table you want. If you just show up, you'll probably get seated, but not at the best tables. Next, get online and read the menu. Your... more
