We were looking for a place to celebrate a special occasion. My wife likes John Besh's cooking. August is definitely a culinary experience. Everything is exquisite-food, service, ambiance. We are grateful to ms. Randi , our server , who made the evening special. The price tag is high but considering New Orleans and the fine dining experience , it is... More

August has always been a destination for lunch and dinner, but has recently opened for brunch on Sunday. Don't come here expecting a bargain, but you will get a value. The food is typical brunch fare but with something extra. The pain perdu comes with buttermilk fried quail and a Tabasco honey glaze. Another dish featured biscuits covered with rabbit... More

This restaurant was truly a treat! We were attended by no less than 6 attentive staff whose every consideration was for our enjoyment and we felt that you could truly tell that they enjoyed their jobs! The meal was outstanding (I started with a beet salad, my mom with the pear and goat cheese salad - we both had the... More

Elegantly dressed, we arrived on time for our reservation, our first time at August. My favorite wine is a California chardonay, so I asked our waiter to explain the reason behind August only having two chardonays by the glass, one for $8 and one for $18. He basically said the restaurant needed one cheap wine, and I ordered the $18... More

This is one of the best restaurants I have ever experienced. The service was gracious from the minute we walked in. We were on time for our reservation, but as we had to wait a bit more than a few minutes, we ordered drinks at the bar. The hostess insisted on removing the charge because of the inconvenience. The food... More

Ate here our first night in the city. We stayed right across the street so it was easy to walk right over. We both ordered the Degustation menu. It was creative, delicious, and well-presented. The watermelon lemon fish appetizer was excellent. Very light and refreshing. The spaghettini and tripe was hearty and tasty. Perfect portion size and seasoned well. The... More

Hired out the private room on floor 3 for a corporate dinner. The servers were wonderful. Attentive and always courteous and with a smile. The food... fantastic. I can't tell you about value for money as the meal was prepaid by my corporate team... But it sure did taste great!

We try to visit James beard award winning restaurants when on vacation, so we picked Restaurant August. It was truly amazing! The sommelier helped us pick a fabulous wine in a descent price range. We also received great recommendations from the wait staff, which were plentiful and attentive. We started with the gnocchi with truffles. It was so superb -... More

Dined here with my parents over Labor Day Weekend. Ate here several years ago with a group of friends and we were blown away by the service, food and the whole experience. So, when planning a trip this time around, this was a must! This experience did not disappoint. We opted not to do the tasting menu, simply because we... More

Service is excellent - we were early for our reservation and did not have to wait. The waiter made excellent suggestions for our wine and food. John Besh is one of our favorite chefs and it was one of our favorite food experiences in New Orleans of all time. Portions are smaller, which is perfect for us as it allowed... More
