I have eaten here for over 50 years and decided to take some out of town visitors to lunch. They were excited to get off the "tourist" path and into a neighborhood. For the full experience we took the Canal streetcar to Jefferson Davis and walked to Liuzza's. Everyone had something different and... read more

I live in Mid-City, a few doors down from Mandina's, which is my "neighborhood restaurant". Decided to venture a couple of blocks farther & try Luizza's for a late lunch. Had been once before for dinner. It was a wise decision! Liuzza's is a small, homey, *very* casual neighborhood bar & restaurant with good traditional Italian food, poor boys, seafood,... More

Family owned, local, corner restaurant on a leafy street in Mid-City New Orleans and Liuzza's is really a great place. The decor is old school neighborhood. You walk through the bar area to the main dining room. Tables are tight, atmosphere is very casual. No nonsense service delivers up New Orleans favorites and standard Italian dishes. Their soups and sides... More

Nice friendly staff and great food. Brings back good memories of how restaurants used to be. Food is excellent and the service is great. An experience you won't forget for a long time.

If you are looking for Italian food, then this is the place. I've had better, but it is quaint and in a good area. I was a little disappointed as I had family in from out of town and this was recommended to me. There are far better places in Midcity to eat.

I recommend the Frechuletta to eat and the Bushwhacker to drink :-) Fun & friendly service. Cozy and authentic atmosphere.

The restaurant was recommendet to me by an old New Yorker who travelled not only The US but the World at all. He said it is one of the best places in Luisiana. So I beleved and ate there. There is a homely atmosphere. I was lucky and met there a person who showed me the city, thanks to Liuzza's... More

It was a busy Friday night, but our group of 11 was still able to walk right in and have a great meal. I enjoyed the red beans and rice and sausage supper. Onion rings were perfect. Staff was very friendly and the food was delicious.

This place happened to be close to our house. They have basic Italian and southern food (fried catfish, spaghetti in red sauce, etc), nothing too fancy. Everyone was satisfied with their food and the waitress was nice. Six of us ordered a gallon of the Bush Whacker drink. It was a cream based coffee liqueur flavored drink. One gallon was... More

The owners seem to be very nice and do their best to serve decent meals. That being said, if I were only going to eat at 100 restaurants in NOLA, This one wouldn't be on my list.
