This is not a fancy place but such great food. From the fried pickles to the amazing po boys, everything was delicious. This place is CASH ONLY, so come prepared, but it's worth it.

Off the beaten track but easy enough to find. Menu is loaded with Italian comfort foods and New Orleans fare. I had the special of the day, soft shell crab po'boy with a cup of seafood gumbo. Also ordered a side of onion rings (a house specialty). I also had a few Abita Amber draught beers, served up by Danielle,... More

I have been eating here for forty years. Has not changed much in all that time, except for the Obama inspired inflationary prices. My shrimp Poboy has gone from $3 to $13.50 , Still taste great but the size of the shrimp is a bit smaller. About 30s , I would guess. Four of us sampled the menu and none... More

After a disappointing imitation Po-Boy at a cajun-themed place in Tampa, I drove ten hours for the REAL DEAL, and straight to Liuzza's on Bienville. Fried pickles with remoulade and a couple of frosty schooners were the perfect prelude. Local, unpretentious, and consistently excellent. Shhhh. Don't tell the tourists. OOPS!

As you know I get hamburgers on Tuesday. This week was Liuzza's, a Mid City stand-by since 1947. Cash only, famous from their Frenchuletta which is a muffeletta on French bread and the schooners of beer. Their menu looked great but since it was Tuesday I opted for the Blue Plate special, a hamburger steak topped with caramelized onions and... More

I have been going to Liuzza's since I was 8...I'm now 45. The time prior to this one, I ordered stuffed artichoke and it was cold as ice. I asked to have it reheated and it came back just as cold. The poor boy (that is the original pronunciation), shrimp and oyster, dressed, had few oysters and cold shrimp. Tonight,... More

I never been here before but after a friend kept after me to try it I finally went. Arrived at 1pm for lunch. Self seated ourselves immediately. This place has been around since 1947 and still looks pretty good. There is limited seating so maybe during high demand times it maybe difficult to get a seat. We ordered a shrimp... More

This place didn't look like much, but it was amazing! The wait-staff was very nice and recommended many things including the roast beef sandwich. In fact, three other people had all recommended the roast beef prior. It was spectacular! Get it with just mayonnaise and Swiss cheese; the waitress argued that this was the original way this sandwich was meant... More

This has to be the closet to Italy you can eat. Authentic Italian food and New Orleans style food too. They have catfish, Shrimp, corn and okra stew, and the list goes on. Nothing bad in this place. Only draw back is they only take cash. No credit or debit cards, but they conveniently have a ATM there. This is a... More

The only thing I have had here is a Frenchalata. It is like a Muffalata, but on French Bread. Absolutely to die for! Whenever I'm in town, it's in my list of things to do. They also serve Bushwackers... It's like a frozen mudslide that goes down great on a hot Louisiana day! If you e ever been to the... More
