I love muffalatta sandwiches. I was cautious about the hype and the french bread. Seriously it was not only the best one I've ever eaten, but quite possibly the best sandwich of any kind I've ever eaten anywhere. Granted the olive salad is an acquired taste, but if you like muffalattas, try this one and if you have never had... More

For the last 10 yrs, I have been slowly checking out well known fine dining, casual, and dive New Orleans restaurants off my list. Liuzza's was one that I have anxiously waiting to get to based on online reviews. Three of us ordered a variety of the "favorites" based on the reviews such as the infamous debris roast beef poboy,... More

If you're looking for simple, well prepared, and inexpensive food, then Liussa's is for you. In business since 1947, the place is small, tables close together, and cash only, but the great Creole-Italian dishes make it well worth.it. This is a true New Orleans neighborhood family owned Italian restaurant. This type of restaurant is becoming harder and harder to find.

As frequent visitors to Mid-City, we love walking to neighbourhood places at night. Our most recent stroll to Liuzza's was well worth the chilly walk, as the red beans with rice was absolutely superb that night. The eggplant and crab specials were very fine, crisp where they should have been crisp and melting just where that was called for. Quantities... More

Tables were packed so tightly for our lunch group of 30 that bathroom breaks were impossible. Frosted beer mugs were the high point of the meal. Artichoke and shrimp soup was was fair. Fresh beet salad tasted like canned beet salad. Grilled shrimp poor boy was bland. 2 of the 30 orders were lost.

I had one of the worst meals of my life here, and I honestly can't believe it. What happened to the perpetually-voted-best-neighborhood-restaurant-in-the-city place?? Yes, the beer is cold. Yes, the oysters are good. No, that spaghetti-tiny shrimp-spinach dish without ANY kind of seasoning or sauce or olive oil or salt is not. Four day old garlic bread? No, I don't... More

My daughter and partner took us to this restaurant (which is their favourite) for dinner one night. We could not finish our dinner because of the quantity. The quality was great, the service good, and the Mud Slides delicious. Well recommended.

This is not a fancy place but such great food. From the fried pickles to the amazing po boys, everything was delicious. This place is CASH ONLY, so come prepared, but it's worth it.

Off the beaten track but easy enough to find. Menu is loaded with Italian comfort foods and New Orleans fare. I had the special of the day, soft shell crab po'boy with a cup of seafood gumbo. Also ordered a side of onion rings (a house specialty). I also had a few Abita Amber draught beers, served up by Danielle,... More
