The food was excellent! The restaurant use to be a old home that has been turned in intimate dining pleasure, they could fit our whole group up stairs in former bedroom

I have eaten at Clancy's twice while in New Orleans and all I can say is Outstanding in every way. From the minute you are welcomed at the front door to the thank you when leaving. On this visit I had the speckled trout special with crawfish tails, it was melt in your mouth good. I wholeheartedly suggest stopping in... More

We had a wonderful time there! Great food, great atmosphere, the tables are far enough from each other so that you don't hear your neighbours converstions. The waiting staff was excellent!! What a service!!

The food and service were superb. Among the best food I've eaten anywhere. Wife and I had catch of the day and veal. Oysters Rockefeller for appetizer. Reservations recommended and also take a cab - parking is very hard to find in the residential location.

Have been here many times over the past 30 years but our last visit was some 5 years ago. I bragged about the smoked soft shell crab served here but the crabs are a bit late this year. Not to be disappointed, we had great seafood gumbo, pan roast chicken, scallops with cane and vinegar brown butter, risotto with lobster... More

We made reservations here to try what we were hoping was a local gem unknown to tourists. And it delivered on the food front. It was the best food we had and we ate at some great restaurants. Everything was prepared so well and so full of flavor. I gave it 3 stars because of the service we received. I... More

My brother-in-law recommended it, and I was getting worried that no one else I mentioned it to, including the guy on the plane who lived in New Orleans, knew it. I didn't need to worry! Food was great, setting was lovely, and I only wish we had time to linger at the bar, but we were meeting friends elsewhere. It's... More

Clancy's is the quintessential New Orleans native's restaurant, and Clancy's knows it. If you understand this, you'll enjoy your meal there. Four of us had dinner there and each got different things. All were great and our service was fine. Food was prepared correctly and we had no complaints, except table was rather small for 4. Try to sit downstairs,... More

While relatively new by New Orleans standards (I believe the restaurant in its current form came about in the 1980s), Clancy's definitely has an old school neighborhood New Orleans restaurant feel. The corner bar building, mirrored walls, tuxedoed waiters and stark lighting certainly add to the effect. The menu is also consistent with the character of the restaurant, containing classics... As I said.... pretty good food, but"wow" lots of attitude! I had read on another review before going that they felt like the general feeling was very pompous and boy were they right. We had reservations for 5 and were greeted by the hostess with "reservation?" and we said for 5 and the name. I am guessing that since the... More
