Cozy and noisy, but great food, service, ambience

A lot of reviews of this place mention that it's loud, and it is. It's cramped, plus a lot of the patrons are themselves quite... jovial. It's part of the charm. :) In any case, the food and service here are great. I was a tiny bit underwhelmed by the softshell crab, but everything else was... read more

Wonderful little neighborhood restaurant filled with locals. Friendly service and very good menu with lots of options. Loved this place. Will definitely go back. I'ts far from the French Quarter (about a $30 Uber fare) but if you are in the Uptown area this is a must!

Good New Orleans restaurant Uptown. Great service, good food. Off the typical "tourist" path, but easy to get to. You won't be sorry.

2 out of the 3 entrees ordered were poor, one had no taste, the other the sauce was burnt, ruining any flavor. The other entree was excellent.. but 2 out of 3 for $35 entrees isn't a good track record. Despite our two-week advance reservations, found that regulars (locals) got seated at best tables, with tourists like ourselves seem to... More

After much research we decided to go to Clancy's Restaurant in Uptown New Orleans. We were very fortunate to be seated upstairs where it was much quieter. Started with a delicious romaine salad followed by Veal Annunciation. Not knowing what it was and based on the server's recommendation I hoped for better. It was a fried veal cutlet with pasta.... Great high class, small tavern environment. Awesome personnel service. Group of five, got seated on top floor corner table. Server struggled with some menus options, had to peak at the list. Other than that, no issues. Food was awesome, had the smoked soft shell crab. Ended with strawberry bread pudding. Everyone else the tables enjoyed there plates as well

We were staying close to the French Quarter, so we had to drive to Clancy's. It took about 20 minutes. Once at the restaurant, we were taken upstairs to the wine room. It's an interesting room with one wall that is floor to ceiling wine bottles. Periodically a waiter would come up looking for a particular bottle. The service we... More

Great atmosphere with plenty of choices and all excellent. Waiter recommended an excellent wine. Food was a mix of regional (etouffe, bread pudding) and chef creations. A little pricey but definitely worth it.
