Very good food off the beaten path.

Great food in an area a short taxi ride away from the French Quarter. My tuna was suppose to be rare and was medium well but was still ok. I'd have ordered an extra drink but our waiter apparently isn't trained to maximize profits because I'd have taken another cocktail. Appetizers were great... read more

This restaurant is located in the middle of a residential area and it is nice and cozy! The food and drinks are excellent! The staff was pleasant as well. I thoroughly enjoyed oysters, sweetbreads, etc. This place is to die for! The ambiance was great!

The food was excellent, the service was superb and the drinks were generous. A VERY local place frequented by locals because if you don't ask about it, you will never even know it exists. Located in a residential neighborhood with no parking my suggestion is to arrive and leave by cab. You WILL NOT be disappointed but do not just... More

We had a great dinner at Clancys. Great food wonderful service and the ambience was spectacular. A small little corner restaurant that has all the charm and warmth of New Orleans. Have the oyster chowder!

One of the thousands of New Orleans traditions that are traditional for a reason: they are fun, social, delicious and special, is New Years eve at Clancy's. I was lucky enough to be invited to a group that had been doing it for years. People brought champagne which was welcomed by the Maitre'd, who had it taken away to be... More

While Clancy's remains very popular, given the difficult location and waning kitchen, we should all expect to find it easier to get a table over the coming years. Pros: ---appetizers and desserts remain the strength ... fresh hot bread ... the gumbo was terrific, and we liked all of the unique desserts Cons: ---service is too contemptuous ... please relax... Nice pretty restaurant near Audubon park. Prices are typical new Orleans fine dinning high. Most entrees seem to have minimum of vegetable garnish.Lighting is dim and menu is hand written so bring a flashlight (or smart phone) to read the menu. The food is very good. If you wish you can have bigger portions of appetizers as an entree or... More

I agree with a previous post - attitude is everything. The food was okay - but our waiter was somewhat condescending....particular when discussing the wine list. Entrees were good for the most part - veal was okay; don't waste your time ordering the chicken; scallops and drum were by far best orders at the table. We were excited to order... More

Staying in Uptown / Carrollton

Neighborhood Profile
Uptown / Carrollton
Very much their own self sufficient unit within the greater metro area, Uptown and Carrollton tone down the urban edge with a friendly attitude and collegiate feel. Home to Tulane and Loyola Universities, all the students living in the area ensure that Uptown and Carrollton stay youthful, cosmopolitan and vibrantly fun. Two of the liveliest thoroughfares for nightlife and socializing (and yes of course more of the city’s outstandingly good food and live music) are Oak Street and Maple Street. For a truly wild time, the expansive acreage of Audubon Park, with its zoo, golf course, and actual patches of swampy wetlands, means peace and quiet are never too far away.
