Very good, not great

After much research we decided to go to Clancy's Restaurant in Uptown New Orleans. We were very fortunate to be seated upstairs where it was much quieter. Started with a delicious romaine salad followed by Veal Annunciation. Not knowing what it was and based on the server's recommendation I... read more

2 out of the 3 entrees ordered were poor, one had no taste, the other the sauce was burnt, ruining any flavor. The other entree was excellent.. but 2 out of 3 for $35 entrees isn't a good track record. Despite our two-week advance reservations, found that regulars (locals) got seated at best tables, with tourists like ourselves seem to... More

Great high class, small tavern environment. Awesome personnel service. Group of five, got seated on top floor corner table. Server struggled with some menus options, had to peak at the list. Other than that, no issues. Food was awesome, had the smoked soft shell crab. Ended with strawberry bread pudding. Everyone else the tables enjoyed there plates as well

We were staying close to the French Quarter, so we had to drive to Clancy's. It took about 20 minutes. Once at the restaurant, we were taken upstairs to the wine room. It's an interesting room with one wall that is floor to ceiling wine bottles. Periodically a waiter would come up looking for a particular bottle. The service we... More

Food, service, atmosphere, location - All perfect! They make a good cocktail and have nice wine list.

Great atmosphere with plenty of choices and all excellent. Waiter recommended an excellent wine. Food was a mix of regional (etouffe, bread pudding) and chef creations. A little pricey but definitely worth it.

Nice menu selection, very good appetizers (sweetbreads and the shrimp) and varied selection of entrees. Extensive wine selection for paring with whatever you choose. Service was good but a little on the slow side. Better suited for those who choose leisurely dining experience. We tried several higher end restaurants in New Orleans in May 2015 and this was my favorite.

When I visit New Orleans, Clancy's is usually a must stop for me. Living in NJ I really miss the neighborhoods and and CREOLE COOKING that abounds. I had the Oyster Rockefeller Soup for a starter, then Veal & Sweetbreads. I have to go along way to find those items in NJ/PA. It was originally a joint in a little... More

I had been to Clancy's before and had good experiences. However, tonight was a waste of $300. My wife and I were celebrating our son's college graduation. The entire dinner lasted only 1 hour. There was a table of 8 who were four tables away from us and we could not hear ourselves speak at the table. The waiter could... More

If you live in a big city, don't bother. This is nothing special. Food good but staff stretched, very, very noisy on ground floor and frankly, rather exhausting.
