Very nice good and interesting

A very nice place for lunch or dinner. Went with a larger group including a birthday celebrator. Food was good and interesting. A mix of Italian and French inspired twists on Cajun food. Only reason not five stars was I hated the gumbo. Bust most liked it.

Maybe our expectations were unrealistic. New Orleans is a great restaurant town and one of the great restaurateurs recommended Herbsaint. My "housemade spaghetti" starter, touted by our server, was a pleasant variation on familiar carbonara, topped with a "fried-poached farm egg" (as opposed to what? a wild-caught egg?) that was more clever than yummy; my wife's "seasonal greens" was a... Our meal was phenom! Our server was great ~ she answered all our questions and was very knowledgeable. I think my husband died and went to heaven while eating the pork belly. Would totally recommend Herbsaint to all our friends and family!

We absolutely loved the food at Hersaint. We had the small serving dinners, which is a wonderful option for seniors. The bread that came with the meal was enough to fill us up! However, the desserts sounded so wonderful that we had to split one! This was one of the best meals I have ever had. Our server was very... More

For a weekend get-away in New Orleans, we received two very reliable recommendations for any of the Chef Donald Link restaurants, and selected Herbsaint for its more varied menu. From the very start, when a travel delay caused us to need a last minute change to our Friday evening reservation time (which was graciously accommodated,) to the expertly prepared and... More

Excellent service, delicious food, easy walking distance to Superdome and Convention center. Nice cocktails, as well.

Went with a group of 8 people and we were well looked after by our server. Great combination of traditional French cuisine with a Cajun/Creole twist. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but the duck served that night was the standout.

This was a wonderful meal to celebrate our anniversary. We had a selection of small plates to share and mixed drinks...all were very tasty and well prepared.

James beard award winning restaurant. Great service and great southern food. About a 15 min walk from our French quarter hotel. But nice because the area was not too touristy or crowded. You should check it out if you are a foodie. Not inexpensive however.

We ate at Herbsaint 3 years ago on our last trip to New Orleans, and loved it so much that we made it our first dinner upon our return. The food was very good. Only dish that disappointed a little was perfect texture but surprisingly bland. Short Rib appetizer was delicious, as was the pork belly and drum main courses.... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
