Margaritaville New Orleans – once a state of mind is now a state of being and a landmark in New Orleans’ French Market. Margaritaville embraces the mythical world defined by the insightful lyrics of singer/songwriter Jimmy Buffett for over three decades. Characters both local and from prose and poem create an entertaining atmosphere that brings to life the search for the legendary lost shaker of salt. From the Tire Swing Bar to the Deja Vu Dining Room, Margaritaville is a colorful tableau of New Orleans Culture and Buffett philosophy. The island-inspired menu offers something for everyone with American and regional favorites and, of course, signature Margaritas. This place is closed for now.

I went to eat here just as I usually do when I'm in town & it was closed with a note on the door stating to look for it to reopen in 2016 in a different location. Their company store had already closed that was next to the restaurant & there is a hot sauce store in that location now.... read more

In town for the Sugar Bowl so wanted to get a Cheeseburger In Paradise ( and a t-shirt) so after the pep rally we walked down Decatur Street for 3 quarter mile after dark to only find that it was closed! Wish that have been advertised a little better before we walked all that way. Royally sucked!

Ordinarily I love Jmmy’s Margaritaville – and in fact I seek them out whenever I travel to a locale where one is to be found. However this experience left sometime (a LOT of things) to be desired. Decided to bring my daughter to Nawrlins for her 18th b-day. Was having a great and memorable time and dropped into Margaritaville where... More

Very disappointed to find this place has closed. Have visited many times in the past and loved everything about this place. The ambiance and decorative colorfulness of Margaritaville is most entertaining! The margaritas were yummy as well as the burgers. Very friendly staff. Will miss going here...Hopefully will reopen soon and close by.

Jimmy, where are you? This place needs some serious attention. I have visited other Margaritaville locations and had great experiences. This location needs "Changes in Lattituded, Changes in Attitudes." Apparently there was some issue with their food delivery service or something, No matter which entree we requested, the answer was, "Sorry, we don't have that." And that was the high... More

You simply must get the fried chicken platter, Awesome! Huge! Delicious! We sat upstairs since we were in a large group and had a bar right near us. Very potent drinks. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food, Even the burgers were good. This is the type of place you can just hang out at and never feel pressured to... More

It located right by the French Market. You cannot go wrong with ordering a margaritas (or 2), some fried pickles and onion rings. They have a full menu, but to me it was a stop to listen to music, have a snack and refreshing margaritas after walking for several hours in the hot humid weather. It hit the spot. It... More

Go for a drink, but beware the food is subpar, over-priced and just plain yucky. The drinks and music are always good and maybe if you drink enough before hand the food might seem good. Very disappointed.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
