Great Lunch place

I have been to Cafe Degas many times and each time the food has been great. From the cheese platter, to the quiche, to the french onion soup, each dish was tasty and provided good flavor. I would highly recommend this for lunch

The food is fantastic, imaginatively prepared, and the ambience can't be beat. We were on a covered porch, next to a tree. Service was impeccable. Walked to City Park afterwards to cap off a truly lovely afternoon. Can't wait to visit Cafe Degas again on our next trip to NOLA.

Pretty and funky atmosphere. Service was a bit slow. Recommended wine selection did not met our expectation. Goat cheese salad was a thin smear of goat cheese on a toasted small piece of baguette in a salad devoid of much dressing. The baguettes in the bread basket was chewy and lacked freshness. The fish entree, Mahi Mahi, was good. The... More

I really enjoyed the evening I spent at Café Degas. The setting is absolutely delightful, and we were blessed with a great table right by the window overlooking the sidewalk. I loved the ambiance and the vibe of the restaurant. Service was a bit spotty at times, we needed to find someone to get a drink order taken and our... More

We got a restaurant.com certificate and enjoyed a couple steaks and fries which were delicious. Atmosphere is pleasant though a bit crowded, waiters are attentive even though busy and bathrooms are clean and cozy.

This place was the best! Clean, beautiful and delicious!! The baked french onion soup was the BEST I have ever had! We also had the Mahi Mahi which was outstanding as was the filet of beef. The patio is an awesome place to eat.

I went to Cafe Degas while visiting NOLA with friends; "lunch" was recommended by another foodie friend. My meal was excellent; I had their Salade aux Choux de Bruxelle - Seared Brussels sprouts, creamy gorgonzola, duck bacon, red onions, sherry vinaigrette - and their daily special, gnocci with crawfish. The meal was accompanied by fresh, crusty French bread; the service... More

Nice unpretentious restaurant with a nice porch. We (two people) had lunch.Fresh good quality bread with butter (I can't eat it but my companion enjoyed it). House salad (basically lattuce with blue cheese) + Gumbo (a soup). Grilled trout with vegetables . (pumpkin) x2. Rapsberry and dark chocolate sorbet (intriguingly strage flavour i.m.o. they should have split rapsberry sorbet and... More

We had a lovely lunch in this little house that has been converted to be open air. It was cold when we were there, so they had the plastic panels closed and the heat on, making it quite comfortable. There is a cemetery nearby that you can tour without a guide and the art museum is lovely, all accessible by... More

We went here for an afternoon snack. I loved the restaurant thought it was so cool. We had a cheese platter, which was phenomenal, Wine, and had this delicious lemon cake. We sat out on the patio and it was so relaxing watching life pass us by as we ate our cheese and drank our wine.
