Good food at reasonable price, nothing fancy

I had lunch at Cafe Degas with friends after tour the Edgar Degas museum. The cafe provides casual dining experience with very good foods. I had the tomato soup and steak. Both had good intense flavors which I enjoyed. The foods are reasonably priced

We go to Cafe Degas every now and then and always have a nice meal or assorted apps with wine. Good and service have always been very good and we think of it as a bargain since we purchase and use a 'restaurant.com' coupon each time. Such a deal!

Went because of great reviews. We were sat quickly but then kind of forgotten. Ordered whole crab. It was breaded and deep fried to crunchy but had no flavour. No sauce to dip, nothing. Came with steamed broccoli and pretty tasty lentils. I expected more quality and something less bland/boring for the price. the price

Casual, yet a great dining experience. Food is always fresh and well prepared. We have ordered 3-4 course meals or just a couple of appetizers and salads. We have always been very very happy. Patio setting is kept cool, even in the hottest of summers. I was fine, but others found it a bit chilly. In town often for business... More

A great meal every time you come. Many specials to choose from. French onion soup and soft cell crab salad today. Parking might not be the easiest but worth any hassle.

I and family have been eating at Cafe Degas about once per month for many years now both before Katrina and after. The food is consistently good to excellent. Try the seafood omelet. Discount coupons are available at the website and at restaurant.com. You can park across the street unless it is time for Jazz Fest. Circle around to find... More

I will admit, I'm a bit biased. This is a favorite spot in New Orleans for multiple members of my family and my husband and I have been there several times. The menu is distinctly French (and delicious!), but not intimidating. But the service and atmosphere are the real stars. Some of the best service I have ever had at... More

Great little place. It's always crowded but food is really good. Parking is a problem as its in a neighborhood with no defined lot.

Have been here twice for Sunday brunch - and both times it was great food. Very reasonable prices - check the internet for coupons. I am not a drinker at lunch so figure that must be how they can keep the prices so low. Outside and porch style seating. Can get crowded - reservations helpful.

This is a busy local neighborhood restaurant with lovely lights in the trees on the street. When you walk in the bartender scowls at you, as does the reception. Overcrowded is an understatement and yes their a/c blows ice cold air everywhere. The unhappy service staff kept bumping into my chair until after the tenth time I made it clear... More
