my friend had eaten here before, and chose this cafe for us to have lunch.....loved it! The quiche was so light and tasted divine. The salad was fresh and had a nice light dressing. Loved being able to get a Kroningburg beer!

We're headed to the museum at city Park and looked for a place to eat. The tree-lined streets and garden like atmosphere are delightful. French food without being too fussy. I can't wait to bring some friends here.

I can not get enough of the amazing food this restaurant turns out. They always have daily specials that depend on what they can get fresh. They always have Escargot, Mussels & French Onion Soup on the menu that you must try. The mussels are almost identical to those I had in Brussels except the fries that come with it... More

Cafe Degas and I have a love affair. I would dine here every night if I could!!! I always get a St. Germaine cocktail to start, then dive straight into a cheeseboard followed by a special. If I'm starving, the steak frites is always a winner.

We stopped here for drinks to visit with friends. The bar is very small, cozy and quiet ,a great atmosphere, not touristy. Drinks were good and reasonable, and the bartender was great. I peeked into the restaurant (had a tree in the middle), and the meals looked delicious. Next time I'll plan on dinner.

A small little establishment putting out great modern twists on classic dishes and with an outdoor dining area with a tree in the middle of it. Loved it!

We were going to be visiting New Orleans so I wanted to make sure we tasted food from all the different countries that made the area what it is today. I found this restaurant on a coupon site and thought French ok. So we went. Wow the food was fantastic, the staff knew their jobs, the wine was awesome. I... More

A little removed from the craziness of the French Quarter situated in an old house along beautiful Esplanade Ave. Cafe Degas is a delight. The food is very "French" for the most part and delicious. The foie gras tureen and the French Onion Soup are divine. Have never been disappointed. Nice wine list also and the servers are very good... More

Call early to make reservations, but definitely worth the wait! They were out of escargot, the tuna main dish and the rack of lamb by the time we got in, but the alternative mussels and lamb t-bone chops were delicious! The service was superb, the outdoor seating was a nice touch. Would recommend!

We had experienced nearly every Creole restaurant and wanted something authentically French. Café Degas did not disappoint! We started with the cheese plate. My husband ordered the veal and was so tender and amazing. Great portion size! I ordered the escargot with grits and a lump crab over arugula salad. Both hit the spot! I was expecting only five escargot... More
