We waited almost an hour and a half one nice Saturday morning, probably their busiest day of the week. Camellia Grill did not disappoint. Diner is classic small, older, greasy spoon style. Counter seating only, hang your jacket or purse on the hooks underneath. Food is good, southern breakfast and more. Liked my pecan waffle a lot and loved the... more

I loved this place-- the food and energy made the wait (we waited about 30 minutes for lunch around 3pm!) all worth while. An easy stop off of the St. Charles line, a must-do for any visitor to this beautiful city! The roast beef sandwich is amazing! more

Read about the reviews here prior to my our visit to NOLA and my wife and I decided we had to go here during our sightseeing along St. Charles Ave. Sure glad we did. Went around noon on Monday, 9/28. All seats (what are there, about 20?) but our wait was only about 5 minutes, in which time we enjoyed... more

Must do when in New Orleans! Service is what you're coming for - they act like they know you! It's a perfect atmosphere and the pie cooked on the grill and spanked with a little sass is what makes it unique! more

There was a line (moves quickly) and like all tourists we stood in line not knowing what to expect. We inched toward the doorway and we were finally brought inside, waiting for a spot to open at the counter. The serving area consists of two connected semi-circle counters with a total of approximately 28 seats. Behind each counter section are... more

We took the streetcar from Royal and Canal to Camellia Grill. We enjoyed the ride, then we really enjoyed our experience at Camellia Grill. Marvin is fantastic, food is terrific. Our children had a great time. We caught the street car back with no issues or delays. It is in a lovely part of the city! more

Love the burgers and if my metabolism was what it used to be would have loved a chili cheese omelet with fries! Whole family loved the place and the staff is always great with the kids. Based on how the trolley schedule's are even less predictable post-Katrina, I recommend driving here if you have a vehicle. We waited over an... more

Camellia Grill is a throw-back to drug store dining at the counter, but no drug store ever served up the food that the Grill does. The pecan waffle was a delight and the omelets were huge (topped with chili made them even bigger). We went on a weekday and waited only a few minutes for a spot at the counter.... more

My wife and I have been to New Orleans several times. Camellia Grill has become a mandatory stop. This is an old fashioned diner that looks like it has not changed in a few decades. The breakfast is good, but you must have the chocolate pecan pie, warmed up and with a scoop of ice cream. What is really great... more

I've been to the Camellia Grill three of the four times that I've been to NOLA. I first saw it on the food network and made a point to find it on my first visit to New Orleans. My friend and I usually take an all night flight from Seattle, arrive at about 8:00 am, drop our bags off at... more
