Stopped in here one afternoon looking for lunch and breakfast and I am glad I did. Had amazing food with great hospitality from our server Joey! We tried the catfish poboys, waffles, chicken, fried mac and cheese rolls, cheese fries and much more and it was all delicious!!! Service was fast, servers and cook were extremely friendly, and the price... More

It's a dinner ! Oh yes it is ! For all you "clean freaks" don't look to hard and DONT look out back in the kitchen. Just sit down order your food and watch the show! The counter men keep up a running, gentlemanly ( for the most part ) banter to go along with the food that will cure... More

This little diner has the outsized energy of New Orleans packed into the small space that has been around for ever. Biggest problem with the restaurant is deciding what to order (Chili Cheese omelette, cheeseburger, red beans, pecan waffle?!?!?!) to go with your mocha freeze.

They bill themselves that way - the best hamburger in the world, and they're right. White-jacketed waiters take orders from a sparse menu and the grill man goes to work right in front of you. The place looks like a giant serpentine Formica bar with 1950's stools to perch on. I'll admit I was hungry when I went there, but... More

This apple didn't fall far from the tree! By that I mean, despite the name difference between Camellia Grill on St. Charles and The Grill on Chartres, there seems to be little difference in the food, service and experience. The Quarter location eliminates the need to ride the streetcar and much of the time, eliminates the need to stand in... More

A 35 minute street car ride and a 30 minute wait on the sidewalk was only a minor inconvenience. The chefs special omelette and the burger dressed was worth the effort. A New Orleans classic that everyone should experience.

This is a review for the Camellia Grill in the French Quarter. We went back to "The Grill" because it was awesome the first time, affordable and had a staff that was awesome. Nothing had changed and it was really good still. Our waiter, Ivan remembered us from 2 years ago and this guy is awesome. A tip would be... More

i understand people might get upset when a place changes hands, or that a favorite server like peanut might move, but this place was just as good and good value as it was thirty years ago when i first went there. and the chef's special omelette is still AMAZING.

We recently enjoyed breakfast at the Camelia Grill. The staff was able to seat six of us with 15 minutes of arriving and the service was outstanding. We ordered everything from omelettes and onion rings to pancakes with eggs. The portions are large and the chocolate Icee/milkshake is great!!! By the time we left the line was 30 people deep...
