We enjoyed the four-course Reveillon menu this evening. Shrimp bisque to start, dark, smoky, broth was simply the best bisque that I can ever remember sampling. Then to bbq shrimp, three jumbo shrimp surrounding calas (A fried rice cake) set in a wonderful sauce perfectly matched to the hot french bed served when we arrived. The entree was the seafood... We went for the Revillion Menu. Their selections was one of the best with 3 entree choices. Not only was the food delicious but the food was served at a good pace. The sauce on the stuffed flounder was fantastic and so was the shrimp barbecue sauce. There is nothing bad to say about the food or the service. All... More

Brigtsen's has been one of the great New Orleans restaurants for many years. The quality of the food is fantastic. There are no bad dishes. Sauces are fantastic. You will want to go back again and again. Sweetbreads, rabbit, speckle trout all fantastic.

An acquaintance of mine recommended this restaurant. She has been to New Orleans many times since her daughter worked as a chef in this city. This place is a little off the beaten track but easy to get to and well worth the trip. We took the St. Charles St trolley to Maple. After a 2 block walk on Maple,... More

The area a questionable, and it's in an old house. But it's in your best interest to walk in and dine. The staff are wonderful and the food and cocktails speak for themselves. I had the tuna and I wish I had more! Everyone at the table loved their choices! We all ate everything! Plus dessert, also off the charts!!... More

From the moment I called for a reservation, until the moment we left, we were made to feel like we were a welcome guest in their home. Drinks, salad, bbq shrimp appetizer, and entrees were exactly as described by our very knowledgable waitress and were absolutely divine! A wonderful last evening in town before we head back to Texas. When... More

Brigstens is a bright little spot up town. Cozy and Comfy with just the right touch of friendly. The sazearc was well mixed and presented. The food is very good too. It's not haute cuisine, but boy o boy it is just good. Everything we had was good I would say more than good, lamb, drum fish and shrimp all... More

I had been wanting to eat at Brigtsen's ever since seeing it featured on a show about New Orleans years ago and finally ventured uptown during my recent visit to the city. The restaurant is located in a charming old home a short walk from the river bend streetcar stop. The streetcar ride through the garden district and past the... More
