A fantastic evening with great food

Good reviews led us to booking at Brigtsen's and we were not disappointed. After all the good reviews, we booked in advance for our last night in New Orleans. The food was average and the service casual, almost brusque. My roast pork was tender but the presentation was unappealing - brown, yellow and grey, no garnish. The over-salting referred to seems to have been fixed, because my partner had to request salt and... More

One of my good dining choices in NOLA. Go here instead of Commanders Palace because the food is better and service just as good. Dress nicely because even the locals dress well here. Just keep the shorts for french quarter. Food was excellent and our waiter very attentive.

Top notch, 5 star meal. Service was as good as we've ever received. The renovated house along with the 15 minute cab ride to get there (from Canal) added to the night. GET THE RABBIT... just do it. It was excellent. and we've been back since just for it.

We celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary at Brigtsen's, where we had also celebrated our 25th! The shrimp bisque is a delicious as always and a new soup on the menu, chanterelle with fresh crabmeat was excellent. We both enjoyed the Gulf Fish entrée and had two good desserts - the tres leche cake and the special red white and blue... More

What a great meal at Brigtsen's, every dish was more delicious. I love seafood and my gulf fish was outstanding and so fresh. Wish I could eat there every night.

Lucky find in an off-tourist neighborhood, but easily reached by the street car (St Charles Line). Heard about this place on The Food Network, and it did not disappoint. Nothing here is trendy, quaint, casual & comfortable. Felt lucky to find a place that seemed like all the locals showed up at on a Friday night. We were there on... More

Seriously.. the gumbo is a joke .. the chanterelle crab bisque was tasty but then you get to your neglected overpriced gulf fish. .. this time red snapper .. huge, Disappointment... portion and arrangement...the over saltiness in the crawfish cornbread was inexplicable ...service was good .. kitchen lost there way ..read many good things but clearly left disappointed

Chef Frank is awesome! He worked under K-Paul at Commander's Palace and also at K-Pauls on Chartres when he was inventing the "Blackened fish". Brigtsens is a New Orleans gem that is visited by locals nightly and tourists daily. Excellent choice in New Orleans

There is no more welcoming host anywhere. We love Brigtsen's and never go to New Orleans without stopping for a nice, slow, relaxed evening in one of the Crescent City's most exotic eateries. The best appetizer in America might be the Des Allemands catfish with that incredible stone-ground jalapeno tartar sauce, that is, unless you love shrimp more. If so,... More
