Plus.. servers are very friendly Cons.. noisy, cramped. Neutral.. food is nothing to write home about.
Ended up coming here with no idea of the place - it was my birthday and we couldn't decide. So pleased - the food was delicious and the service impeccable. Recommended the next day to some people we met in the French Quarter. Will definitely return.
there are several great restaurants in new orleans. this is a standout among them. beautifully prepared, beautifully served. creole style foods--complex but not formal. The seafood, oysterd dishes, duck ( pecan stuffing sometimes) are new orleans classics. brigtsen's imaginative preparation of local seafoods is what puts new orleans on the map of the worlds finest food cities- i have never... My birthday celebration was extra special because of this restaurant. The attentive service and fine offering of interesting and excellent choices more than satisfied all 7 of us. I would recommend that you box half your dinner and leave room for their scrumptious desserts.
2/22 lucky to get a reservation at a well renowned restaurant. The service is ok if you don't mind waiting for everyone to be served, which I think is key in finer restaurants, two demerits. The pork chop was wonderful as were the shrimp and grits and lemon creme brûlée. The cochon du lait looks like any plate of food... More
We went for dinner and were not disappointed Dianna was our server and did a great job. We had the Brigtsen's Seafood Platter (aka the "Shell Beach Diet") and the Cochon du Lait both were wonderful. We had enough left over to take and have for Breakfast. Would go there again next time I'm in NO.
Had dinner here with my husband after touring the garden district all day. It's a bit out of the way so after walking on Magazine street for awhile we caught a cab to the restaurant. We had heard great things about how Brigtsen's offers great local cuisine and great dessert. I must say we were disappointed. All the seafood we... More
We enjoyed our evening at Brigsten's. The restaurant is welcoming and cozy. The service is great, and they are eager to please. There were four of us. For appetizers, two of us had salads, which were both good. They will do a half salad. One had the chicken and andouille gumbo, which was okay. For entrees, the cochon and the... More
Brigtsen's is a charming place with welcoming service. I felt like I had stepped into a southern movie set, but this was the real deal! Unfortunately, my dish was disappointing. My cochon de lait was tasteless, but the vegetables and sweet potato puree it came with were excellent. My husband had the seafood platter and was very pleased. He can't... More
You can count on this restaurant for its consistency in the kitchen. From duck to fish and all things Creole & Cajun you cannot go wrong. The chef Frank Brigtsen was a protege of Paul Prudhomme and learned his craft well.
