It is fashionable among people to "discover" the new, best, New Orleans' restaurant. Many of these are, indeed, delectable places to eat. However, those who think that to do so they must denigrate the best of the best are letting emotions get in the way of sound judgment. For a great dining experience, nothing beats Commanders.

Absolutely fabulous food and service. This place is a must try. I am glad to have this incorporated in our Racontour tours, we would not have seen some of the details of this wonderful restaurant had it not been for our great guide, Tree. the commaner's palace should be in every NOLA visitor's to do list.

My favorite part was the staff, who were great. I went with colleagues who uniformly raved about their meals, so I trust it really was that good, though my meal was definitely disappointing. My hangup: I don't eat seafood or steak, and there was literally one thing on the menu I could eat, which was an extremely salty pasta with... More

My husband and I have been to NOLA several times, but never went to Commander's Palace...what a mistake! We were missing out! It was my B-Day weekend, so my husband made brunch reservations. We were greeted like we were old friends, made to feel at home immediately, and the experience continued throughout the meal. Nolan was our waiter, and he... More

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at Commander's Palace. The service was impeccable! The turtle soup was outstanding! We each had the three course prefix meal that had wonderful choices that we ultimately shared. The atmosphere both classic and romantic and the experience was what memories are made of. We would highly recommend this restaurant as a must... More

We travel to New Orleans often on business and this is our very favorite restaurant to visit. We take business clients and Commander's always impresses. The food, the waitstaff---everything is topnotch.

The food and service were excellent. The waiter removed the white napkin and brought me a black one, since I was wearing black--nice move--so I didn't get white lint all over me. Pecan crusted drum = YUM!!!!! I had never heard of "drum," but so glad I tried it. It's a delicious white filet fish something like mahi mahi or... More

What an amazing Sunday jazz brunch we went to at the Commander's a couple of weeks ago. We started with the 1-1-1 soup plate, featuring Seafood Bisque, Turtle Soup and Gumbo YaYa -- all of which were amazing! My husband then ordered the Seafood and Eggs, and I had the Veal Daube. Again...just outstanding! And the coffee is beyond wonderful,... More

we were lucky enough to be in town during restaurant week in New Orleans. Commander's Palace had 3 course Prix Fix menu that was fantastic. When we arrived we were escorted through the kitchen to our table. We had a sampling of a cocktail, choice of soup or salad and choice of 4 meals. there were four of us so... More

Can only say good things about the entire experience and just the little things that were done so well. When we arrived the white napkins were removed completely from the table and we were not sure why, until the staff returned with black napkins to match our dark colored atitire, so as not to potentially get white fluff on my...
