A Most Memorable Brunch

Everything wonderful you've heard about Commanders is true! We dined for lunch, found ourselves there earlier than anticipated (yes reservations required) but were seated right away in the upstairs intimate dining room. From the receptionist to every staff member, we were made to feel welcome. 'Welcome in!' each one spoke as we passed. Great training and ambiance. Staff was superbly... More

My wife and I ate here for Sunday brunch, March15, 2015. We both agree it was one f the most outstanding meals we have ever had in the world - and we travel a lot. Our server Tiffany, was the best. The wine was fabulous, the appetizers listed below were terrific. But it was the main course meals of crusted... More

I had high expectations for this restaurant based on other reviews I read and a recommendation from a friend who had dined here before. I ordered the Commander's Salad and the Barbecued Wild Shrimp; my date had the salad as well and the Redfish for his entree. While we both enjoyed the meal, we were not blown away by it... More

I was in New Orleans for a conference and wanted to try the best food Louisiana had to offer. I was dining alone and ate early so I was able to be seated right away without a reservation. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. I started my meal with the gumbo and then had the white shrimp over... More

We were on a business trip and were fortunate enough to be able to get reservations to this fabulous restaurant. Although we arrived earlier than our reservation called for we were seated immediately. As we walked through the restaurant and up the stairs to our seating every one of the waiters and waitresses acknowledged us and said good evening. The... More

Located in the Garden District this restaurant is a New Orleans staple. You are most likely to see locals than tourists dining here but the generous warmth of the staff welcomes everyone alike. I've come here most often for their Jazz brunches where the dining experience is a little more casual. But the food is never the less excellent. The... More

We were a little anxious going into the restaurant but that was all taken care of when we met the host who made us feel extremely comfortable. That proved to be the same throughout our meal there. We were waited on by a team of 3 servers. All of them did an excellent job. I had the soup du jour... More

In spite of advice to avoid because it was overpriced and overrated, we decided we wanted to see for ourselves. We had the romaine salad and it was okay, but very eggy. My main course was a beef dish that had several small cuts as well as a bone with marrow. I tasted no marrow just lemon. The beef was... More

If someone gave me a gift of going to any restaurant in the US, it would be to Commander's Palace. I have yet to be disappointed, and I have been going since 1989. In fact, when my wife and I fly in, we get our rental car and go to Commander's first, even before checking in. This time we went... More
