Was really surprised by this place!

I thought I had eaten at most of the great restaurants in New Orleans but I guess I was wrong! Really enjoyed our dinner here. To begin with, the service was outstanding. Food was also really well done. Make sure to save some room for the bread pudding for dessert! Will definitely be back!

Had just a wonderful meal at Irenes, put name on list and had to wait app 1.5 hrs and was totally worth it. Started with their version of oysters rockefeller, then had turtle soup and finished with crispy duck with plum and ? Glaze. The duck was moist and flavorfull. Soup rich but had all the right spices for a... More

Great wait staff and impeccable service. We shared the meatball appetizer, a Caesar salad and both had lasagna for dinner! Large portions and delicious Italian food. So glad we fit this into our trip on our last night in New Orleans! Definitely will come back for more. Great spot for a romantic night out!

We spend two or three weekends a month in the French Quarter, and have for years. Still, we had never dined at Irene's until a couple of weeks ago. Wow! The food, the atmosphere, the service, and the cheesecake!! Oh yes, the cheesecake!

Just the smell when you walk by will get you! A true New Orleans hidden gem in the French Quarter. A local place, and one of the best restaurants in the entire city. Enjoy!

I have reviewed Irene's Cuisine before, maybe 2-3 years ago. We waited a long time that night and it was worth it! This trip we arrived soon after they opened and were seated quickly. Irene's was suggested to us originally by a local and I understand why, it is great. Very well run, staffed by pros and the food is... More

A very nice but crowded restaurant. Not too noisy which was amazing seeing as I'm not sure how the staff got around. The food was delicious and not huge servings.

My wife and I ate here for dinner back in October. It was one of the best meals we have had in our trips to NOLA. The fact that the waiting area was in the back was a little different, but added to the character of the place. Once seated, the service was amazing, We sat in what appeared to... More

For Londoners it's unusual to feel that other cities are as or more expensive than home but New Orleans is an exception. They should really call it "mardi grab" as everyone seems out to gouge you. That said, this restaurant serves good food at what would be a moderate London price tag. The service is attentive and friendly and the... More

My husband and I have been to New Orleans many times over the year and I don't know how I have missed this place but it was fabulous. We did make reservations as I saw that was recommended and were seated immediately. We had an appetizer that I think was a special of the night of bruschetta and it was... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
