Not only was the food good, the waiters were wonderful and other restaurants should have as good of waiters. The service was good and we were never ignored or forgotten about. Upon entering you were greeted and felt like family. It's a smallish restaurant and we went early. Got seated right away. Definitely would go again. Irene's is still in... More

Great family owned dinner spot in the French Quarter. The waiters are as good as the food, but the waits can be long.

Was worried about the "long lines" as many TA reviewers had previously said. Arrived at 6 pm one Wednesday night; walked right in, seated immediately; typical NOLA restaurant -- old building, beat up ugly carpet and wallpaper, large lighting, etc You could tell the waiter was a "professional" waiter, not a guy waiting for the Next Better Job....prompt, friend service... Our party of seven women, including three birthdays could not have been better, we were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived to the birthday desserts to share,to allowing us to have separate tickets, unheard of in NOLA.Everyone at table loved their dishes, the best soup I ever had, Cream of oyster Rockefeller, bruschetta, and lasagna excellent, reservations a... We went on a Saturday night without reservations and had to wait an hour for a table. Food was well worth it. Oyster bisque soup appetizer was superb. Entrees of soft-shell crab and crevette with drumfish and shrimp were terrific. We had no room for dessert. An exciting evening in our area as a young man got down on one... More

We went without a reservation but didn't wait too long. We waited in the piano room with service~didn't mind the wait at all. The inside is a bit funky-tables close together, small space. Staff were incredible. Very knowledgeable of the menu and so very friendly. It was like they were really happy we were there. The menu is not large... More

We were recommended this place by a bus driver in New Orleans. It was a couple blocks away from our hotel (the beautiful villa convento) so we rang up to book a table. Very pleased that we booked as it was busy. The only time they could fit us in was 8.30pm which was fine by us as we had... More

We have been to Irene's several times, but hadn't been in a couple of years. We got together with some friends and decided to go back. Irene's didn't disappoint. It is old and a little dark, but the service is great and the food is wonderful. I had the soft shell crab pappardelle and it was divine. This is a... More

My husband read about Irene's in a travel guide and we decided to try since it was close to our hotel. We were seated upon arrival and found ourselves in a warm, charming space. Our server Orlando was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I tried the special, shrimp fra diavolo which was spiced to taste and not to overheat. My... More

I went with my wife to celebrate my birthday tired of too many fried cajun food, and all the food was excellent as well as the service. The oyster soup was superb and the mignon were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Medium for me and medium well for her. Desert was very good too.
