GW Fish worth the visit

Great dinner at GW Fish! Wonderful table service. Prosecco was excellent. Biscuits melt in your mouth. Would recommend the seafood gumbo, iceberg wedge salad, scalibut and scallops. Remarkable dinner.

While GW Fins is not one of the well known restaurants in New Orleans, it definitely is one of the best for food and service. We were able to get reservations by sheer luck when someone canceled and from the time we arrived until we left we were treated like guests in someone's home. The food & service were outstanding... The food is excellent, no question there. But what makes GW Fins even more exceptional is the absolute perfect customer service. A dining experience is just that, an experience. It goes beyond the food. GW Fins gets that and executes it beautifully. Gary Wollerman (owner) spent some time speaking to us and upon learning it was our 20th anniversary, arranged... More

We sought out this place because of the ranking on Trip Advisor. It did live up to the ranking! We split an app based on the waiters recommendation, each had great entrees, licked the plate clean! Wine was great, water glass always full, kept the rolls coming. We were nervous about no reservations, but we walked in on a thursday... More

Must try the sizzling smoked oysters, even if you don't think you're an oyster fan! Our service was spot on and the food was unbeatable. Will definitely go back on our next visit.

Traveling for work with a team member that is a vegetarian. GW Fins was one of the few restaurants with a veggie entre, the gnocci which looked very good. I had the swordfish and shrimp. My meal was cooked perfectly and the portion wasn't outrageous like so many restaurants these days. There is a waiter circulating with a tray of... More

Very busy, buzzy restaurant which we liked. We were given a nice booth overlooking the restaurant. Service was nice and attentive without being too swift. We started with sizzling smoked oysters which have to be tried! We also had crab cake and tuna tartar both good. We then both had the signature dish. Scallop encrusted halibut with a lobster risotto,... More

This would be it! I have been here numerous times, and it never fails to amaze. My favorite is the original "Scalibut", a halibut filet with sliced scallops baked on top. But everything here is super-fresh and simply outstanding. They do a great filet as well, and the smoked oysters are amazing. A word of advice, though the endless buttermilk... More

This was our first dinner in New Orleans, and it did not disappoint. Their Scalibut was absolutely delicious. One of the nicest touches was instead of serving bread before the meal, they served small biscuits that literally melt in your mouth. Can't wait to come here again.
