Experience the cuisine that has created raving fans of local diners and national and local food critics alike. Chef Tenney Flynn (New Orleans magazine's 2004 "Chef of the Year") ensures the highest quality seafood by flying in products from around the globe and featuring only the best from local waters - both at their seasonal peak. This commitment to freshness, variety and to the guest are some of the many reasons GW Fins prints its menu daily and has received numerous glowing reviews in The Times-Picayune (4 beans), Food & Wine, Southern Living and Esquire magazines. One of the best meals we had in New Orleans. We had a group of 10 and had made reservations. Collared shirts for men are required but casual dress is otherwise allowed. We had excellent service and a waitress who knew her menu well. Those who had steaks said they were the best they ever had flavor wise and cooked... More

We chose this based on the fact that it was #1 for NOLA dining on Tripadvisor. That said, we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. The atmosphere was fantastic. Our server, Sean, gave us awesome recommendations that were delicious. We shared the lobster dumplings (I believe that's what they were called on the menu) as an appetizer, and... More

Based on previous reviews, we decided to try GW Fins for dinner. Everything was top notch. We were given a table by the window and seated promptly. A nice wine list although I had one of their specialty cocktails, New Orleans mojo, which was very refreshing. Our appetizer was the Cobia Crudo which was presented well and tasted as good as... NOLA is loaded with great restaurants, and GW Fins is one of my faves. Everything they offered, from the tiny muffins to start, to the steaks/seafood, to dessert was awesome, and the service also was excellent. A little pricey, but worth it... 5 stars for sure, but also 4 dollar signs... $$$$.

Can't wait to go again. The lobster ravioli is devine. I had to go twice so I could have more. Good drinks - blackberry. Main course was sheepshead fish very good and desert was banana pie.

My sister brought 12 classmates HS Grads 1969 from Northern Ontario in March. Setting was great as they have a diarama of a Bayou scene w/ stuffed gator + birds. Food was great if a little slow but we had lots of time.

The server was warm and friendly, talkative and not in a hurry. Food was excellent. The owner was walking around the room talking to patrons--- he is very involved (he made our reservation one day when we walked in while the restaurant was closed).

Here is another place we likely would not have found without Tripadvisor. It wasn't perfect, but it was a pretty good evening. The skies were opening up with thunderstorms and since we were in the area, we thought we would see if we could get in prior to our reservation. There was no chance. The place was fully booked up... I will come back to GW Fins on my return to NOLA. Fantastic dinner every time I've been here. The service is great and the food quality and presentation are outstanding. If it's on the menu, try the blue fin tuna! This is actually one of my very favorite restaurants in the U.S. Make reservations well in advance on Fridays... More
