Experience the cuisine that has created raving fans of local diners and national and local food critics alike. Chef Tenney Flynn (two time winner of "Chef of the Year" in New Orleans Magazine) ensures the highest quality seafood by flying in products from around the globe and featuring only the best from local waters - both at their seasonal peak. This commitment to freshness and variety are two of the many reasons GW Fins prints its menu daily and has received numerous glowing reviews in The Times-Picayune (4 beans), Food & Wine, Southern Living and Esquire magazines. Came to this lovely restaurant at Mardi gras and yet they seem to glide gracefully through the service. Waitress was very attentive but discreet and left you to decide. Food was excellent, would recommend scalibutt and scallops. Lighting good with a great balance between being intimate but being able to see what you eat. Also tables nicely spaced. They could... We've eaten here about a dozen times. It has become our New Orleans favorite. I have only eaten the Jalapeño glazed Scottish salmon...why bother with anything else! My son was disappointed that they couldn't make a grilled cheese for him. (Stopped their French bread service), but he seemed pretty happy with the chicken tenders. It's always nice when a fine... This is the place to go if you want fresh fish. They only serve the freshest! Make sure you ask for the biscuits. They bring you homemake drop biscuits before your meal. The atmosphere is great. Great location! Highly recommended!

Wow - my second visit here and it is spectacular. Our waitress was amazing and we had the loveliest dinner. Both of us had the "scalibut special - amazing dish. We see again why this is consistently #1 in the NOLA finest. We were seated promptly and had an amazing appetizers, dinner, dessert and wine. This was in the midst... More

I had a very good dinner at GW Fins. They were very helpful in answering my questions about eating gluten free, so it made ordering very easy. I ordered the Scalibut, which is just as amazing as everyone says. The prices are high, and the service was a little bit slow. I didn't love the ambiance, it was a little... More

This restaurant was by far our favorite that we visited while in New Orleans. The menu was very gluten free friendly for my husband. Our server, Jason, was so helpful and had wonderful recommendations. The Scalibut was fabulous...not to mention the made to order apple pie. The prices were reasonable considering the high quality (and quantity) of food. I'm salivating... More

Menu changes everyday! The chef only uses what is fresh. He goes to the docks and gets it himself. So great I don't have the words.

A great variety of seafood entries. My fish was cooked to perfection. Make sure that you make a reservation since this place is busy. Even with our reservation we had to wait over 30 minutes. The wait is worthy specially if you stop by the bar.

I’m not a foodie by any means, all I know is I like what I like. For example, I believe you can get a good meal at In-n-Out and at GW Fins. The differences of course, will be price and experience. My meal was under $90 with tip which included a cocktail (Pimm’s Cup), salad (golden beets with arugula, goat... More

Staying in French Quarter

Neighborhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
