GW Fins has by far the best "upscale" seafood in New Orleans. We frequent the restaurant for special events and have never been disappointed. The menu is regularly adjusted to ensure that the most fresh an flavorful foods are highlighted and the service is prompt, professional and informed. This is definitely a NOLA favorite - and that is quite a... more

We were in search of great fish or seafood and did not enjoy GW's. Husband ordered tile fish which he said was OK, I ordered scallops on a bed of mushroom risotto. The scallops were not cooked, had a rubber texture and not edible. We only had 3 nights in NO, and thought we had selected our dining choices carefully... more

We arrived in New Orleans at the end of the afternoon, still jet legged so after making a reservation for Finn's for 9.30 pm we went for a nap but woke up almost at 10 pm. In a hurry we phoned the reception who phoned the restaurant who said that it wouldn't be a problem if we were there before... more

We've probably made half a dozen trips to NO over the last 15 years, mostly to EAT. We've hit all of the "biggies" (Brennan's, Arnaud's, Commander's, Emeril, K-Paul, the late, lamented Alex Patout), but this was our first visit to GW Fins. After our meal there, no trip to NO will be complete without a return to that lovely tiered... more

Service was good but we felt a little rushed. And for no reason as it wasn't very crowded. But the food was very good and would defintitely recommend this place. Loved the balcony-like booth seating. more

Excellent seafood- great Chilean bass in a citrus-flavored shrimp broth- original and yummy! Unfortunately atmosphere is very noisy and could hardly hear my dining partner more

Our waitress, Lindsey, was so great. She overheard us talking about our anniversary and gave us a dessert of deep dish apple pie. The entire staff was fabulous and the food was superb! We will definitely go back! more

GW Fins on a warm Thursday night in October was crowded and seemed to be too much for the wait staff to pay attention to a table of 2 diners. While the tables for 4 and 6 were served promptly, we had to keep asking for our meals. There was a large selection of fish and seafood and the meals... more

When we go to New Orleans we expect great food - but this isn't the place to get it. About all I can say about GW Fins is it's just average and not worth the menu prices. My wife ordered her swordfish well done but it came raw in the middle. The response from the waitress was "oh, I'm sorry..... more

Had a fantastic meal at GW Fins while on vacation. I dined solo and was pleasantly surprised when the server offered reading material- a very thoughtful gesture. I started with the crab cake appetizer and "perfect pear" martini- both were excellent. Note, they don't skimp on the alcohol so beware! I had the scallops and mushroom risotto which was excellent.... more
