We heard this at breakfast from someone and went here for dinner. It is much more of a quiche than a cheese cake. We started our meal with a light spinach salad, then this appetizer that won't disappoint…and then finished it with delicious duck with mushrooms. It was a bit on the lighter side of the menu but we heard... More

This place is recommended by friends who live in NOLA, it a really nice restaurant and bar. Food is original and very tasty. Meals are really hearty so if you're not very hungry it's not the right place for you! It was one of my best vegetarian meal during my stay: a huge stuffed pumpkin served with a choice of... More

Very good food but loved it more for the atmosphere and experience of it all. Plan to wait for a table - there's a bar next door to ease the pain. I overheard several locals explain Jacques-Imo's to their companions so I have to believe it's where locals take out of town guests for a fast of NOLA. A good... More

Ate here with some friends of ours that live in New Orleans...they recommended it and it was seriously amazing. We had to wait, probably like an hour or so, but we had drinks by the bar and after sitting down and eating the food... I have to say it was definitely worth the wait. Go eat here...you won't be disappointed!

This place was worth the wait, especially given that friends went earlier and enjoyed the first hour and fifteen minutes of waiting without us. The stuffed crabmeat stuffed shrimp and fried grits appetizers were excellent. Between the four of us, we had the Fried Mirliton with oyster stuffing (great), Grilled Mahi Mahi (also great), and Grilled Grouper (likewise). The service... More

Three of us ate here on the recommendation of our B and B host. It was our best meal during the four day stay. Jacques-imos is a small place, a taxi ride away from the Quarter of Garden District, but well worth it. The restaurant was packed even though we arrived around 6:00PM. kThe specialty is seafood and they know... More

This place is so fun. We've been going there for years when we visit NOLA. You can't go wrong with any of the food; it's impossible to have a bad meal here. The stuffed catfish is especially awesome. It's very fun, funky, and you'll leave absolutely stuffed (cornbread and a salad with oyster come with every meal). You will have... More

This place was recommended by several people. It is just a few blocks off of the St. Charles trolley. The atmosphere is lively. We had a very sweet and attentive waitress. I had the shrimp étouffée. It was excellent. My side dishes were fabulous as well including the corn muffin and salad. A must do while in NOLA.

Asked a Trolley Operator where he thought was a good place to eat in NOLA---like where do the "locals go". He said Jacques Imo's (his pronunciation was Jockamo's). He said "if y'all have any left overs, I'll take 'em---especially the stuffed catfish . I love this place....!" Sorry no left overs---the food was so good...from the cornbread muffins to the... Went there a week after the New Year on a Wednesday, wait was 1/2 hour for table of three. The cornbread appetizer was great, the Mahi Mahi special was a thick filet that was very good, the Blacken Red Fish was on the thin side but had a very good taste. The sides were all excellent, though rather small. Service... More
