Got to Go

Saw this place on a couple of foodie shows so thought we would try it on our recent trip to NO. It was worth the car ride (and traffic) from the French Quarter! Had the fried green tomato appetizer and the fried chicken . All outstanding --just know the chicken serving is huge - 4 pieces enough... read more

Okay, so it has a funky bus in front taking up prime space, but that is just the beginning of a restaurant that has fun creating a funky atmosphere for it's over the top food. You can't help but have fun with all the laughing and people watching going on. Leave the fine dining clothes behind, it is comfortable casual... More

Wow! From the start Jacques-Imo's was an experience. When you walk in it looks like it's only a bar but then you literally walk through the kitchen to the brightly decorated dining room in the back. When you're seated they bring over a plate of hot cornbread muffins to start. We ordered the obligatory shrimp and alligator sausage cheesecake which... More

Took Da Bus due to St Charles Trolley being side lined to heavy construction...BTW Senior fare is 40 cents one way !!! vs Uber @ $50.00, as reported here... The 'shotgun house' converted to restaurant was refreshing to visit along with it's accruements, of every describable ' throw away ' one can muster....making this a 'Pickers' dream. Now for the... A neat place with a lot of character. I can't even descibe what the restaurant looks like, but I can tell you we walked through the kitchen to get to our seats, and to the restroom. What our group of 6 found at Jacque-Imo's cafe was great food and large portions. Some of the food we tried were corn bread,... More

We were told about Jacques-Imo's from a native, and were told we would probably have to wait, but it was worth it. The food was very good, and the wait staff was wonderful. Unfortunately, the young hostess that was working that evening almost ruined our visit. We called before we arrived and asked how long the wait would be. We... More

This is one of my favorites. You walk through the kitchen to get to your table! How dope is that ? This is a local place. Godzilla Rocks! Must have some cheese cake (it is not a dessert).

Wonderful restaurant in Uptown New Orleans. Food and service are excellent. Make sure to make a reservation as it's a very busy and popular restaurant. When done with dinner check out the Maple Leaf Bar next door for some great music and colorful characters.

This place is amazing - does things differently, which is worth the time you have to wait. I like that they acknowledge the delay and offer to keep you informed by text (we took the time to explore the neighbourhood on foot). The food (Crawfish Ètouffèe and Grilled Mahi-Mahi) was authentically different and delicious. The complimentary corn cake and salad... More

We had a very large group at Jacques Imo last month. The restaurant is a little far from Convention Ctr aprox $50 Uber ride each way. This place is a dive with southern flair. A little much deep fried food for me, large portions but very tasty. Instead of bread they give you delicious corn bread cakes which are addictive... More
