After reading the super reviews below, I thought this would be the time to try Ethiopian. There's no way 8 good reviews on TripAdvisor could lead to a bad restaurant, right? Wrong! Either there has been a significant change in management since the last review in July or the other reviewers have a much different opinion of what a good... More

We have two Ethiopian children and enjoy Ethiopian food quite a lot. We were thrilled to find this place on our trip. The lamb tibs we had were fantastic, very sweet and not at all spicy. Would recommend this to everyone.

I had to be visiting for longer than my usual stay to branch out to other types of food from the traditional New Orleans dishes. Our dinner was exceptional! We had the lamb stew and the vegetarian combination - both were incredibly well prepared and the presentation was wonderful. We drank the hot tea which had a hint of licorice.... More

The place is new and clean and simple and very comfortable. The service was excellent the food was wonderful Ethiopian. I variety platte - a large plate for several people to eat off at once would have been nice - but the taste and presentation of the food can not be slighted. If you know and love Ethiopian and are... We have had great meals at Nile. No problem if eating with your fingers makes you queasy. You will be given forks and not made to feel foolish. The decor is basic, clean, service very friendly by Ethiopians (they are a beautiful people). The key wot (lamb) is outstanding, the vegetarian dishes too, and we love the kittvo (raw). They... The atmosphere is sparse but clean and the wait staff were very polite and friendly. The food was a wonderful sampling of Ethiopian food. Unlike other Ethiopian restaurants I have been to, They provide you with fork and spoon and large tables had individual plates. We had two lamb dishes and one vegetarian platter. The cuts of lamb were clean... More

We had the lamb wot and the beef tibz and the vegetarian sampler. The injera was great and each vegetarian dish was fantastic; from the beets to the lentils to the gomen (spinach). This from an Ethiopian who cooks her own ingera weekly and keeps her kids fed with Ethiopian cuisine. Definitely returning here when we visit again.

SO good. My friend and I each ordered the Vegetarian platter, and it couldn't have been better... There were six dishes included on it, and I kept going back and forth over which one I love more. Everything was super fresh, none of it greasy. Highly highly recommended.

I recommend eating ethnic in NOLA if you are a vegetarian or are simply just over top with shellfish and sausage, as we were after a few days of visiting New Orleans. Found the food good, fresh, and homemade by the wife of the Ethiopian owner. The decor is stark, but the food is super cheap and very tasty. The... More
