My husband and I had a wonderful lunch. My husband had etouffe served with a large homemade biscuit. Lots of crawfish and a wonderful sauce. I had the chicken curry salad on a bed of mixed greens. To be fair, this is one of my favorite places. Especially for breakfast and I visit often. We walked up at 7:53, a lady opened the door before we reached for it to tell us they were closed and didn't open until 8:00! 7 minutes!! Really??? We had breakfast at Canal Street Bistro because it was within walking distance of our rental. We had seen mixed reviews so was not sure what to expect. Everything we ordered was tasty and made fresh. My wife and I had a wonderful lunch at the Canal Street Bistro! While my wife's omelet with grits on the side was just very good, my seafood soup was outstanding! This is a friendly, informal small restaurant. I wish that we had time to return and try some of the other things on their menu.

A relative of ours suggested going to this restaurant for a change of venue. They are located not far down Canal Street from Interstate 10 in New Orleans. Cute new restaurant in Mid-City. Loved the juice menu and healthy menu options (gluten free, tofu)! I will definitely be visiting again.

Found this bistro almost by accident. Saw it from the canal street trolley. We'll worth the trolley ride back. Eclectic menu but both of our entries were excellently prepared. We 'found' this place when another of our favorite breakfast places nearby had a ridiculous wait for a table. We're glad we did. This place has an exceptional breakfast menu and serves it until 2:30PM on the weekends. We tried to go to a few different breakfast places and they were all packed. Then we found this place, they were busy but it was a short wait for a table. We had amazing strawberry orange mimosas. I has the huevos rancheros and my husband had the spanish breakfast. Both were great!

Stumbled onto Canal St Bistro on a Monday AM when Ruby Slipper was closed. Mostly empty. Fresh juice bar awesome. Food excellent.
