Good Food Indeed

GREAT Food! My husband and I ate here on a Friday night. Though the restaurant was quite busy, our wait wasn't long because it was only the 2 of us. Larger groups take a little longer to seat. We climbed stairs all the way to the 3rd floor and were seated near a window that allowed us to peep... read more

A very good Bloody Mary as a start following a crabmeat cake. After that there are no mistakes, a platter to try all at once or a gumbo, go for it!!!

Coming back to New Orleans since a mid-90s visit and looking for places to take my daughter to eat when I stumbled on this. My buddy and I were here for JazzFest and ate at this place and thought it was one of the best deals in the Crescent City. Service was fast and pleasant, the food was terrific, the... More

We got sick with our first meal at Red Fin :-( For dinner we stopped at N'awlins cookery. Afraid I might not like gumbo, I tried only a cup--but it was AWESOME & I wished I had ordered a bowl :-) My husband's steak was super delish & he ordered a bbq chicken breast on the side for me, which... I asked the bellhop at our hotel what restaurants he'd recommend, and this was the first one he mentioned. It was convenient to our location, and in the mid-price range (for NOLA, that is). The food was great, staff was friendly, and service was fast.

We loved the food so much that we came twice in the same day! My boyfriend had the taste of New Orleans, which is three bowls of gumbos. I had the New Orleans Cajun Platter which was delicious. The server was very attentive and friendly. He did an awesome job! However, on the second time around we had a female... More

A wonderful night at the Cookery. I truly enjoyed snacking on the Gator Tail Bites - made me feel like I belonged in the bayous. For dinner I had to have their Blackened Catfish Po-Boy, a traditional Louisiana specialty. My wife loved her Taste of New Orleans Platter with Gumbo, Crayfish Etouffee & sausage. We finished it all by sharing... More

The restaurant was recommended to us by a local and we were not disappointed. I had the duck and my husband ordered the rib eye steak. It was a lovely meal and the service was excellent. We were seated at a table by a window at the front of the shop so we could see the hub of the street... More

Stopped for dinner early one evening. Although I was solo that evening, I was given a friendly reception and a central table. Server was very kind, and made some great recommendations when I ordered the seafood platter (although advertised as "fried," the kitchen will serve items blackened as well). The food was really good and the portions were enormous. When... More

Eddie and his staff were exceptional. We had twenty six people all from Houston Tx in New Orleans celebrating my 50th BDay. Food, service and BDay song was excellent. Thank you for everything!
