great vibe

Happy hour drinks half price. Good to meet locals in this friendly pub. The fries were a little overcooked but the sauce good.

Okay, so it was Thanksgiving and it was my fault for not asking about the menu and the price when I reserved the table a month back. But....$211 (excluding tip) for two adults and two kids was excruciatingly painful considering the quality of the food that was served. Dinner was a set menu where kids got a smaller version of... I had heard of the Irish House because the chef was on the tv show Chopped so I was keen to eat here. The atmosphere is great, if someone said I was in a space warp and in an actual Irish pub I would believe them, complete with rugby on tvs above the bar. The beer selection was ample. Our... More

The Irish house was a great break from the het of Cajun food and a return to classic Irish fare. We ate family style by ordering a bunch of dishes and sharing and it was all good. Great bar, wonderful Guiness, service was all smiles and the prices were fair. Bangers and Mashed, Fish and chips, Shepards Pie, and so... More

Randomly went in to avoid a rain shower during our walk down St Charles on a Saturday to the Quarter and stayed for some Guinness and Rugby and great company! We were headed elsewhere for lunch but the food smelled delicious and looked like great Irish fare and will definitely return for a meal! Guinness on tap was delicious and... More

This truly, deeply Irish bar/restaurant is located in an easily accessible corner of St. Charles Avenue. Every imaginable branch of Irish whiskey is available, the staff are friendly, and service is very good. The food is delicious and the menu is a nice mix of local Cajun as well is Irish fare. The shrimp and grits is light but so... More

The Irish House is in a tall, narrow, deep wood frame building on the River side of St. Charles Avenue. The exterior and interior are elaborately and tastefully designed in an Irish "homey" theme. The wait staff are friendly and professional. We ordered a Tuesday special: two Fish & Chips for the price of one and draft beer (had Smithwick's)... More

We decided to try this place because the other restaurant we wanted to try was closed, but boy did we get lucky. The food here was amazing and the environment was so much fun. It was lively and our waitress was extremely friendly. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for some good food.
