we got off of the st Charles st car and we were headed to Mardi Gras World. we decided to stop in here for lunch. The place was pretty quiet. There was only 2 or 3 other tables in there. I've never really had Irish food but this place seemed pretty authentic. I had the plantain soup which was... read more

"Irish Food in New Orleans? What's the point?" You may ask yourself this, as I did years ago. Irish food doesn't seem to fit New Orleans, but chef Murphy has taken classic Irish fare to a new level. That's one of the many reasons he is a Chopped champion. The drink list is great, and there are great cocktails or... More

Took my husband here because it was a gluten-free paleo restaurant. It took at least 20 minutes for a server to come round and we were ready to order but he wasn't ready to take our order. Also upsold on everything. Great Irish live music and the short ribs are to die for. But the service meant for a sad... More

My family and I just happened to walk by on our way to the Garden District and noticed the sign about the chef being on the show Chopped! Being fans of the show, we decided to stop and have brunch! We ate outside and had a delightful waitress. Our food was outstanding! Would definitely recommend!

Visited The Irish House for Lunch with family. Fast friendly service, and fun friendly atmosphere. FOOD IS DELICIOUS! I had the crab cakes and they were the best Ive had. I highly recommend them. My cousin had the Chicken and Waffles he enjoyed them. Great place to dine if you havent yet, you should.

Went in around 1pm on a Monday and saw they only did brunch on the weekends. The nice bar tender asked the cook if they'd be willing to go ahead and cook our desired eggs benedict and lucky for us he said yes. It was excellent and hit the spot along with a few mimosas ;) Chef even came out... More

Having just flown into New Orleans from Dublin we didn't deliberately seek out an Irish bar to remind us of home. It was just that The Irish House bar-restaurant was the closest eating establishment to our hotel The Prytania Park which was just round the corner. Also we have tried out several "Irish Bars" in the past during previous trips... More

My family dined here for a late lunch after touring the WWII museum. We were seated right away and a waitress came immediately to take our drink orders. We had a few questions about the food times which she was very good about explaining. We had a beet and arugula salad and a potato leek soup to start. Both were... More

A really great restaurant! The Irish Gumbo is fantastic. A perfect Guinness pour as well. The roasted beet salad was real good but I wish I had skipped the blue crab add-on. My only regret is that we didn't have time to go back a second time.

My son and I enjoyed our first visit to The Irish House so much we returned two nights later for another round. After three trips to Ireland, my standard for pubs is high. The music was great with rousing choruses of Irish standards accompanied by great musicians. We both had traditional fish and chips the first night finished off with... More
