I just came from Spain this year and this tastes just like it! Especially the do it yourself tapas- excellent idea.. involves you in the food (a cultural experience- how you would eat it IN Spain). The decor is beautiful and cozy.

If you want a taste of Spain, this is the place. My fiancé and I returned from Spain a month ago and had to try this restaurant. We were transported back to Europe through the atmosphere, friendly service and especially the food. The owner is from Barcelona and is extremely friendly and waits his own tables. The interior of the... More

My wife and I were trying restaurants outside the Quarter and happened by accident across this little gem in the river bend area. A local happened to walk by and raved about the food. We came back later the next evening and were met by Xavier, a talkative and informative master Chef who just exudes passion for his craft. We... More

Some of the best lamb anywhere. We really like the menu and have always been happy with our choices. The staff works hard to please and the owner is often onhand asking guests for input. We like the atmosphere. Street parking is usually easy to come by and we've never had to wait for a table so it's not only... More

I'd like to say that this place is doing a good job with what they have to work with, but they're not. To begin with, they actually tell you to order "sushi style." You are given a slip of paper with some, not all, of the items on the menu, and you are supposed to figure out which ones you... More

I just moved back to New Orleans and to celebrate, a friend suggested we try Barcelona Tapas. I was in a mood for little plates, so it was a perfect choice. upon entering, a welcoming bar leads into an intimate dining room lovingly decorated with pots, pans and memorabilia from Spain (a large, enclosed patio out back is being renovated).... We dine here a lot because it is in our neighborhood but mostly because it is very good. Chef Xavier is very personal and it is highly likely that he will stop by your table to ask how things are going. Very good tapas, recommend the tomato garlic bread when tomatoes are in season, gazpacho, sangria, mushrooms, shrimp and avocado... More

My wife & I dropped in on a recent Sat night and sat at the bar to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed the five tapas items we ordered. Service was quick and friendly. The chef/owner came out of the kitchen talked with us, then proceeded to give us a quick tour of the restaurant! He is rightfully proud of his establishment... More

I am so surprised that there aren't more reviews of this place because my husband and I love it! We have both traveled to Spain several times and find that this place is the real deal. The atmosphere is very elegant - with wood panels, a mosaic on the bar, and soft Spanish music playing in the background. We have... More

My boyfriend and I went to this gem of the Riverbend neighborhood for Valentine's Day; it was my first time visiting the restaurant. Immediately I loved the ambiance - beautiful woodwork with intimate lighting; it felt like a little escape. The restaurant offers a tapas menu with a few entrees as well. We ordered a delicious bottle of Malbec, and... More
