Had a great meal and a good time

Went there before a Saints game with my adult daughter and her boyfriend. They recommended it and so we gave it a shot. It's a funky sort of Bucktown place right by the canal and close to the lakefront. Busy even during off-peak but fast seating and a friendly, high energy atmosphere. Very... read more

My son and daughter-in-law took me here for my birthday. It was full and we had to wait, which made me think it was a good place to eat ? It was Thursday night and apparently a very popular place to eat ? I don't eat meat so opted for the cheese quesadilla. The cheese was like rubber.......obviously a very... More

Best Mexican restaurant I have ever visted. The atmosphere is awesome. Like a little "kick", then try the Velvet Heat Margarita...

I got the shrimp quesadilla and then for dessert we got the ice cream nachos. Both were incredible! One of the best desserts I've ever had at a restaurant. Very cool decor here too

Food was amazing! I could barely finish half of it! Would have been a good review if it wasn't for the waitress (blonde hair). She was extremely rude and had a TERRIBLE attitude. She should not be working in the restaurant business. I wont be back because of her alone.

We were a group of 4 adults and 3 kids. It had been raining before we got there on a Monday night so we were able to get seated right away. Ordered margaritas and they were great - saw some drink specials for later in the week that sounded good too. Ordered the shrimp and chorizo cheesecake appetizer. It sounds... More

We went here with friends who happen to love the place so we were excited to try it. We got the pork nachos and those were pretty bland and just not very good. We also tried the steak and shrimp fajitas for dinner and were not impressed. Our service was not very good either. Overall it looks really pretty but... More

Well, there was a 30 min wait so we decided to stay, we figured it was crowded for a reason. The salsa that comes with the chips is horrible, spicy with no flavor. We tried the Trio Dip, it was just 3 different dips and you had to use the complimentary chips to enjoy it. Do not get the dip,... More

This place is edgier and more fun than your typical Mexican restaurant. The walls are covered with local artwork, all for sale. The menu also offers more refined versions of Mexican classics. The salsa they serve with the chips is hot and has a smoky umptious flavor. Although the guac isn't made fresh, it also still has good flavor. I... More

Staying in Lakeview

Neighborhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
