Hidden little gem! looking for donuts in New Orleans didn't find anything other than the Beignets. Been there done that. overrated to me personally. Stumbled upon Blue Dot Donut's online tried them on 07/16/11 what a find. They have a Long John that has Maple glaze on top and Bacon!!!!!!!!!!!! wow talk about GR8!!!!!!!! it was really good sweet and salty the donut itself was warm and soft I highly recommend. A large variety of donuts and followed up my exit of New Orleans with one more stop at Blue Dot Donut's for the road. You gotta try it for yourself. Venture out of the French Quarter and find hidden treasures its worth the journey.

These donuts make my week

I work at a doggy daycare in town and the owner of this bakery brings us donuts every Friday to thank us for hanging out with the fur-children. The donuts are so good! They are really big and fluffy and I usually have to split one in half. They last all day, too (when they don't get devoured... read more

You definitely have to get here early if you want a good selection of donuts. They do some fun flavors like "red velvet cake" and "king cake" but nothing revolutionary. There's good flavor but they're a little dense and heavy. If you're looking for good donuts in New Orleans, there are better places. But if you're craving a donut NOW... More

I saw the reviews and had to go here. It was way up canal so if staying near the water you will need a car, cab or trolly to get here. Expect to wait in a long line! The good news is the ride, the parking and the wait were well worth it. I got a sampling of their donuts... More

Well I love maple bars. I have had them everywhere. Add bacon? Even better! I have had them at Voodoo Donuts and other places, but never better than here! Beyond all limits of yummy goodness! We never miss these when we visit! Have one and you won't either! I just wish they had an outlet/ vendor in the Quarter!

We stopped here on our way out of New Orleans and picked up a dozen donuts to eat in the car, we were not disappointed! The donuts were very very fresh, absolutely stuffed with filling and were the best tasting donuts we have ever had. My son especially loved the bacon maple long john, I would recommend this place to... More

We got here a little late in the day. We had an almond donut. My husband said it was so good he could have cried. This will be our first stop next time in town. Really friendly woman working there.

While I didn't actually go into the store, my friends got a bunch of donuts from The Blue Dot, and they were delicious! Once again, just a local business that the locals know and love. The little shop has a unique menu as well and boasts maple syrup, bacon-covered donuts. (They still have regular ones for us plain Janes, too!)

Delicious.....I love this donut shop. During our recent stay in New Orleans we stopped here twice. Be sure to stop here for a donut for breakfast. I'll be back in New Orleans next month and this will definitely be my first stop when I get to town

This donut shop was started and is owned by cops. I don't mention this as a reason to give them your business or to avoid, rather to show the obvious expertise they bring to the table. And guess what, the donuts are great
