Good tacos in a casual atmosphere

The location is convenient to the Aquarium, French Quarter, and downtown. We stopped in for lunch around 1PM to find that all the tables were taken, but one opened up within 10 minutes. We were looking for Mexican one afternoon after a morning of shopping in the French Market and strolling around Jackson Square. My wife found Felipe's through a Google search and we picked it largely because it was in the direction we were headed. Turned out to be a good choice. While not fancy - it's a Chipotle-style restaurant where one... More

Great mexican food. Nachos and tacos were excellent. The place gets crowded so you'll probably have to wait a bit to get service.

I visit NOLA often & always have had the best experiences at this particular restaurant until now. The last trip here was very disappointing and I will probably not go back. We always like to sit and eat at the bar and usually have the best service here. The place is always packed and the food is always good but... More

Those of you who love authentic Mexican food & happen to be celiac, should skip this place. I needed a quick, inexpensive meal last night, and they were packed. ( maybe a good sign?) I ordered 2 chicken tacos with all the fixings (after repeatedly asking the slightly-confused, but well-meaning staff if it was all "g-free"). Within 10 min of... More

This is my second trip to nola for a major national bridge tournanent. I'm younger than many participants. The tourist areas of New Orleans are wonderful fun to walk, but every single place is both overpriced and mostly fried food. You never find fresh fruit or vegetables in the tourist areas. Felipe's is wonderful. Perfect service, much too cheap for... More

Well, it is the French Quarter, so what can you expect. Lots of hooting and hollering in the bar half of the place. In the restaurant side, the service was quick and the vegetarian food choices were good. My spouse and I got the veggie plato combo (including chips and salsa and a large drink) and the grilled veggie burrito.... More

These are the absolute best hurricanes in the city, hands down! There are 2 but I like the one in the French quarter. I never come to Nola without stopping by.

Fun place with decent fast mexican food- great lunch place. It has a wonderful bar where you can hang out with the locals. We were looking for a restaurant with table service for lunch, but seeing the great bar and atmosphere we decided to stay. Nice staff, great nachos and margaritas.

Visited New Orleans for the Rock-n-Roll Half Marathon. Flew in late, hadn't eaten the entire day, of a physically demanding day. Wondered the streets looking for a place to eat, walked into "Bubba Gump's" and it was closed. The Manager suggested "Felipe's" for real good Mexican Food. Walked in and felt overwhelmed, the manager took his time to explain the... More
