I have lived in the New Orleans area all my life and have traveled the world -- this place is what the Nola food scene has been lacking!! We have always been a town where you could find great food at a good price, but now with Carmo, and a few other places popping up around town, we can get... More

We left the WWII museum and I had read about Carmo as being vegetarian with good juices so we stopped in at about 4:30 pm. The place was mostly empty, clean and with tastefully decorated. We ordered a large Esmeralda Salad (Delicious) for $10 and a Rico sandwich for $10 with two small juices (Caja and Caju) for $4.50 a... More

We were excited to try this Brazilian restaurant. I had the caruru and it was ok. It needed a little bit more flavor to be authentic but the chicken soup canja was great. The pão de queijo was good but very pricey. The juices were great but also pricey. I like the selection of juices. I would recommend it, but... More

Hello, We appreciate your review and are glad you enjoyed the food. As far as the prices on the juices go, we have to charge a bit more for exotic fruits than you'd pay for say orange or grapefruit, which is due to the fact that we import them (as we do the cheese for the pao de queijo). We... More

The restaurant was buzzing and obviously a popular place. I found it by searching for vegan restaurants in New Orleans and saw Carmo had earned a 2014 award from Trip Advisor. The food was outstanding and they offered a fantastic variety of vegan, vegetarian and meat dishes. My parents were not disappointed with their dishes (ham sandwich and chicken salad)... More

I was actually attracted to their collection of exotic fruits since I am from a tropical country myself. Listening to the owner's goal and mission for making the restaurant sustainable is beautiful. Nothing makes you feel better than enjoying fresh food while supporting local business and local fishery. Most dishes are light to the stomach AND DON'T FORGET TO TRY... More

Hi Jooleanne, Thanks for visiting us, we're happy you enjoyed the food. We don't have any plans to offer full wait service at this point, as we would definitely have to raise the prices a good bit. Though we serve the same quality of food (or better) as other local "hi-end" establishments, we're charging and average of 20-30% less than... More

After several hearty (heavy?) meals in a row in New Orleans it was a real relief to find this place. The food is super fresh with lots of flavour, the juices are amazing - all in all, its just what you want after walking around in the heat and humidity all day.

We had lots of fried food and wanted something 'green'. Our hotel Concierge told us about this restaurant but said he had not tried it. It was a great find, really good food and excellent service.

My wife & I had lunch here. Compared to some of the other vegetarian restaurants in New Orleans, we were not as impressed with the food, but it was good, service was friendly, & it came fast. I would recommend this for healthy good vegetarian food.

Went as one vegetarian with four omnivores. Everyone loved it. Had no problem with food for everyone (veg and non-veg) and great drinks (beer, juices, etc.). Colleague got the young coconut water served in coconut and went nuts. Food was creative and delightful. Service was great. Neat building. Would recommend it as a great alternative to traditional New Orleans fare.... More
