After reading reviews about how delicious the steaks were at this establishment, I could not wait for my opportunity to partake. When we arrived at the restaurant for our 6:00pm reservation the hostess was polite. There were only 2 other parties seated in the restaurant, so it was pretty empty. The hostess walked over and whispered something to one of... More

In June, I was in New Orleans with my son and grandson visiting the National WWII Museum. As both of them are steak eaters, we decided to try Mr. John's based on Trip Advisor reviews. We made reservations and requested a table by the window. We were not disappointed! We had drinks at the very quaint bar while waiting for... More

This is not a "budget" dining spot, but the service and steaks can't be beat. Treated like a "king"...and ate like one too.

This is by far my favorite steakhouse in the city! On the more expensive side, but worth every penny! Their filet mignon is delicious; the fried green tomato appetizer is also one of my favorites. This place never disappoints! Great for date night!

We had dinner at Mr. John's Steakhouse on the last night of our trip. Very glad we did as it was the best meal we had while in New Orleans. I had the filet mignon, medium, and it was absolutely perfect. Quite possibly the best steak I ever had. My wife had the ribeye and she felt the same way.... More

In trying to get some information regarding hours and takeout, the interaction was very unfriendly. When we decided to buy turtle soup takeout, the service help acted like we were not 'good' enough to be in their restaurant. They were very unhelpful and rude. I would not recommend this restaurant and I would not eat here.

Located in the Wyndham on St. Charles St., this is a first class steak house with great seafood as well. Order the New York strip and don't bother with any of the sauces...it is perfect served in it's own juice. The steak is cut and cooked perfectly served on a heated plate that keeps the meat warm throughout your meal.... More

Bone in Cowboy Steak and Twin Lobster tails. I dove for the surf and turf here. I've never been a huge fab of lobster but rather an occasional enthusiast. I always thought that most lobster tails had similar flavor and were good as long as not cooked poorly. Mr. Johns changed my perspective because the sizzling twin tails had amazing... More

I highly recommend this restaurant! They have the best steaks in New Orleans. Also you can't go wrong with seared tuna as an appetizer!

On a rainy Wednesday night in New Orleans, we opted for classic steakhouse dining and decided to give Mr. John's a try. Located on historic St. Charles Avenue the restaurant is smaller than many but very classic steakhouse decor. The service was excellent and so was the food. The wine list was excellent and the dry aged beef outstanding. The... More
