Expensive but outstanding.

I have eaten here twice - both times for lunch and have found the food to be outstanding even though expensive. You won't get away without paying at least $100 for two people. I wasn't blown away but if I was in New Orleans I would try it again because I picked a "safe" entree, bolognese and my friend ordered a burger. I may have enjoyed it more if I had given a more creative entree on the menu a try.

This was our second visit to Sylvain and we enjoyed it just as much as the first (two years ago). Both the food and drinks are delicious. The only problem is that we never save room for dessert! We'll likely go here again on our next trip to New Orleans.

Food was delicious. It is fairly expensive. We paid about $175 for 3 people to eat. Insanely dark inside. I wish I could have seen my food a little more. We had our 13yr old daughter with us and she enjoyed the food, but it is more of a date night kind of joint for young professionals.

Sylvain is tucked away off a courtyard in the Quarter, a romantic spot that doesn't skimp on dining style.

This restaurant was recommended by a local and it didn't disappoint. The menu had lots of great options and we all loved our meals. Drinks were delicious (we tried a few cocktails) and they had a good wine list. The setting was dark, cosy and inviting, and in a good central location. I'd definitely recommend a meal here

Went here for drinks and apps with friends. Jason was an excellent bartender. All the staff were friendly. I recommend the meatballs and also check out their old fashioned made with sazerac rye. Beautiful building with great food/drinks that makes for a classic New Orleans experience.

When you start with Tattingers and French Fries it has to be good. Very simple and elegant. A nice departure from creole heavy restaurants and steakhouses that all parade as upper tier in the quarter. Great presentation and good combinations of seafood and the salads are awesome. Will always be a stop for us in New Orleans from now on

Everything on the menu is wonderfully prepared, service is excellent and ambience is old Quarter. The bar is excellent and often mentioned as a place NO bartenders go for a drink.

I enjoyed my meal but it was not exceptional to the extent that anything stood out. My Cobia filet was well prepared and the salad was, a salad. I was non-plus see by the chocolate pudding. Again good, but not great!
