New Orleans has many restaurants which are known by pretty much everybody. My wife and I have been to New Orleans several times and have been pretty much to all of those so we were looking for a local gem. We talked with the staff where we were staying and this restaurant popped up as one worthy of trying. It was... More

The food here was excellent! The place is very small (they have maybe 10 tables inside) so make sure you call before. We waited about 30 minutes for a table but defiantly wroth the wait!! Fast service very nice and patient waiters. Very recommended if you are visiting New Orleans. One thing to keep in mind- the place is small... More

A friend recommended going to Sylvain and we went for brunch. First of all, it's a very cozy little place (read small) so reservations are a must. Everything we ordered was just amazing. My usual brunch drink is a mimosa, but they have much more interesting and fun drinks. I asked the bartender, Cindy, to make me what ever she... More

Sylvain is on Chartres Street but has an entrance off an alley way which makes it very cozy. They have tables outside and if the weather had been good, it would have been a great place to chill out. That being said we liked the decor inside as well- great beer and cocktail choices. The burger delicious and the special... More

Saw it highlighted "the getaway" on Esquire channel. We started with a shaved brussell sprout salad with a white balsamic viniagrette, and I had sweetbreads "buffalo style". When I ordered it I had reservations, since I'm not into buffalo sauce, but they made me a believer. Wow! For our dinner a shrimp pirloo, with popcorn rice, excellent, and my wife... More

My wife is vegan and the restaraunt was very accomidating to her taste. She said the food was great, but she is not the one writing this review. The food was average to me and price was comparable to the rest. You will need to make reservations.

Great food, exciting menu, really excellent service. We ate in the courtyard in the back and it couldn't have been nicer. Fresh, local, stuff, a nice change of pace for the area. If you're looking for the standard gumbo/crawfish/jambalaya stuff, move on. Also, fantastic cocktail menu and solid wine list. Staff from top to bottom was knowledgeable and friendly. Desserts... Sylvain is a very cool gastropub in the French Quarter. They offer a delicious menu. The Wagyu Beef Belly was one of the the best dishes I have ever had, hands down. The staff is incredibly nice and the bartenders make great cocktails. We enjoyed the place so much, we went twice to try other offerings on the menu.

Ate here on our last day in NOLA. Stumbled upon this alley restaurant. Looking for something fresh and local, we were excited to eat here. There was a short wait, as it was a Sunday morning and their brunch menu was all the rage. The atmosphere was dim, with a large bar, and had a classic New Orleans old world... More

Sylvain is a great place right in the French Quarter. The service is spot on and very knowledgeable about every dish. We started with the butternut squash bruschetta which had an amazing blend of favors with the pumpkin seed pesto and the roasted squash. For my entree, I enjoyed the duck confit leg and sausage. Absolutely mouth watering. A must... More
