Last Minute Late Night Find

Popped by here on a whim as most restaurants near the quarter stopped serving at 10pm and we were caught offguard by this. Starving around 9:45pm I searched for late night eats and found this spot. The food was great! Curried Potato Empanada to start were good, not that heavy on the curry flavor... read more

New Orleans is a city that our family goes to at least 6 to 8 times a year. I do business there and we enjoy the city for many reason. Tulane was one university that we attended and my wife's grandmother owes a home in the garden district. Yes we have a good understanding of the city. We remember we... More

I had a few hours to kill before heading to the airport on my last day in NOLA and I spent it here. I had a chicken sandwich that was delicious and finished off with a chocolate pot. I had a very enjoyable time eating, drinking and reading at the bar and given it was raining I was in no... More

On a road trip through NO with my son, we needed to find a place that accommodated both of our tastes. He likes good food but is not very adventurous! I am slightly more adventurous but not a fan of the classic shrimp and crawfish fare in so many restaurants here. Sylvain was perfect! My son practically inhaled the rich... More

My husband and I visited Sylvain's as a recommendation from a friend who recently visited NOLA. We were not disappointed! We sat out in the courtyard because it was cozy and cute (it was very hot however). I ordered the market salad, it was yummy. I had the hanger steak entree and it was delicious. My husband had the scallops... More

Wandered in and luckily scored a seat at the bar. Wasn't disappointed for a second. The service was attentive, personal and hilarious. Every cocktail I tried was balanced and fun. Try the veal sweatbreads and pot de creme for dessert. Ultimately, the atmosphere is perfect, active and food full of flavor. Worth the price.

The menu is diverse enough so everyone can try something. From an awesome burger to Beef Cheeks. The cocktails are classically made. Try the cheese plate.

Our evening at Sylvain was perfect. It was 5 of us and all of us had something different and each dish was just perfect...every drink, every appetizer, every entree and every dessert. Martha the Chef was just amazing. Will definitely make this a must every time we come to New Orleans.

We tried sweet breads, sweet potato empanadas, a fennel salad, cheese plate, and a cocktail. The sweet breads were quite good actually, had a real nice heat to them. The empanadas were ok, nothing special. The same with the salad but it was also just a salad! The cheese plate was good. The cocktail I did not like at all (I... More

Perfect food (hanger steak/scallops/hamburger). Each choice was excellent. Very good service. No complaints. BTW: the hamburger is huge.
