Excellent food, good service!

I found the ambiance and service excellent. All the food was excellent. I had the fish special, and although delicious, it was a touch overpriced.

This was my second time at Sylvain. The food is still as good as it was last year. We were a party of six this time and ordered different things. The outstanding dishes at lunch were the squash soup with habanero, the burger and the fried chicken sandwich. The sandwich and burger came with some of the best fries I've... More

I had the fried pork shoulder and it was fantastic. Sister had scallops and for dessert we had the chocolate pudding like dessert. It was all TASTY! :). Service was good too. Great little place in the quarter.

I had a delicious meal here of a salad and pasta. It's one of the few places in New Orleans I saw some fresh greens! The pasta was homemade and had just the right amount of a wonderful Bolognese. It was a great relief from a lot of the usual excesses of other restaurants. All the dishes I saw coming... More

Yes, it's a lit dark and noisy, a little hard to find, down an alleyway, but the food was great. Had the pan-seared scallops. They were huge, firm tender, and juicy. Served on couscous with fennel citrus salad and roasted hazelnuts, the mixture of flavors and textures was amazing. Would return tomorrow to try the beef dish the couple next... More

For those who want really great food and to get away from the tourist restaurants which line the streets of the French Quarter this is a must. Seating is either in the intimate setting inside which has a 'buzzy' bar or its Al fresco in the pretty courtyard. We loved it so much we visited 2 nights and did one... More

While Sylvain’s may be known for its Chick Sylvain, the burger is what we could not stop raving about! Our table split the Chick Sylvain and burger and each person (4 people) felt that not only was the burger the best we had had in New Orleans, it may be the best we have ever had period. We really could... More

If you get tired of Cajun and oysters (I do pretty fast), head to this small funky place for something very different. We had to wait for half an hour to be seated for lunch; that was worth it but do make a reservation. My favorite was beef belly, yumm... I can still feel the flavor and texture as I... More

Food good. Service Good. Noise level toooo high. Music too loud cannot have a decent conversation and they need to do something to dampen the effects of the conversations at other tables. I had forgotten how loud this restaurant is. Everytime I go I say to myself not going back because of how loud it is

We left reserving brunch until about a week before we were in NOLA and so it was a little difficult trying to find a reservation.Luckily we happened upon Sylvain and were able to get one. We were seated near the window in a somewhat darkened dining room so we had plenty of bright light for our meal. We started with... More
