We went there for lunch on a Tuesday early afternoon. As we walked down Magazine St the restaurants were a little full. Could have sat down right away in all of them. This one had the wait. But there is a reason for the wait. It's good food. Had the brisket, rib and jerk chicken tacos. All of them full... More

I went here for lunch with my family. One word of caution be careful of ordering too much. Everything we ordered was excellent. We also had a very nice waitress who added to the meal experience. The only problem with this place is that it is packed throughout the day so come early to get seated promptly.

Wandered in for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. This is a tropical themed Mexican restraunt. Drum fish with garlic butter was amazing. Nachos were also very good. Excellent funky monkey icecream drink. Service was very good. Atmosphere is relaxed with inside and outside seating.

What a nice find. Had the fish and the spicy shrimp tacos and both were wonderful. Well executed, fresh, tasty. Service was super friendly and fast. Eat outside if you can. Nice view of the goings-on of Magazine Street. Will return during our visits to NOLA. Oh, and we heard that they do $2 beer and tacos days each week.

Lunch for one and a real treat...house salsa is very good though I found a few times it tasted a bit too vinegary. The Rundown Shrimp (Red Curry) was a very nice dish. Curry was balanced and the large shrimp properly cooked. Try it the next time you are on Magazine St.

I have been to this restaurant so many times I can't count. I'm not a college student and can say that as long as it isn't Taco Tuesday, the crowd is like any other lively restaurant uptown.. Kids, adults.. Whoever. Its not a 5 star restaurant, but it gets a 5 star rating because it is a good casual place... More

Although the this place is known for awesome fish tacos, the ribs are even better. There is seating inside and outside. Many specialty drinks to choose from including the famous Painkiller!

Had the black drum fish...a real first, with a light taste and chicken like consistency..the scales were a bit unwieldy but it really was tasty ....also had the taco trifecta..highly recommend the duck duck goose, and the seared scallops...off the chain delicious...the grilled shrimp tho was covered in a too sweet sauce and was really not enjoyable...plantains were superb...we enjoyed... The Rum House is a fun, casual spot on Magazine Street in the Garden District. They have a good selection of rum drinks and awesome tacos, definitely a speciality of theirs. We sat at the bar and enjoyed friendly staff and great service. It was our first visit to New Orleans, glad we found this place.
