Great Breakfast and Music

Overpriced breakfast!!! Decent breakfast but not worth the high price tag. It was Sunday morning, and we were headed to The Ruby Slipper but reverted to this place because the wait at The Ruby was 1+hour. My fiancé ordered the Lou's Plate and I ordered the "special" King Cake French Toast. The food was decent, but definitely not worth the... More

Caught a quick lunch here, right across from our hotel. The food was excellent. I tried chicken and waffles (if it's on the menu, I cannot resist), most delicious. This is not a large restaurant; it seemed to have a nice, quiet atmosphere, worth a try.

Went on a Sunday for brunch. Reservations highly recommended. Even with reservations we had to wait. The host was pleasant. The décor is fun, really like the exposed brick wall. Small restaurant. The bar takes alot of space that could be used for a few more tables or even room for a service area. Especially when people were standing there... More

Yes! Everything was excellent but the Meatballs claim of the best in New Orleans only under rates them. A must stop.

I'm so happy you enjoyed the meatballs! When I was young, meatball rolling was the first thing my grandmother let me do in the kitchen. My mom said 'make them any size'...which is why we make them like baseballs! I'm really so happy that you enjoyed them. More

We went to Red Gravy for lunch. Very tasty Bloody Mary! My husband had the Polpetta omelet. I had a bowl of cauliflower soup and a grilled cheese & tomato sandwich. We highly recommend both menu items! The service was great. All employees were especially nice. The restaurant is small in size but the atmosphere is nice. Would definitely return!

Amazeballs food. The wife and I stopped here before taking a bike tour of the city (Buzz Nola is just down the street) and only wish we had more time to enjoy the meal since we were a little rushed. I had the bbq shrimp and grits and the wife had some meatball thing. Everything was awesome. Oh, I also... More

Red Gravy advertises that it is one of the top brunch locations in the US. Not sure who made the list however it is very good. My family and I had a great meal with one exception - hence the title. Several members of the party ordered the lasagna - we were told it would take "a few extra minutes"... More

Thank you so much for taking time to share your experience and I am so pleased you enjoyed your meal. I am so very sorry that it took so long for your meal. I have no excuse other than the kitchen falling behind and dropping the ball. Indeed, the lasagna does take extra time as we roll the pasta dough... More

We had a good lunch at Red Gravy, but disappointed by portion size and price. The homemade pasta was delicious, with red sauce that was very good, just a little on the sweet side. The homemade meatball was also delicious, but was priced by itself. For the price of the one meatball, we can get two meatballs the same size,... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
