I am typing this as I sit in the red gravy. No doubt that the food is very good, however, the behavior of the owner is demeaning and unprofessional. I have listened to her berate and admonish both the poor hostess and customers for the entire length of our breakfast. I don't have any idea how she keeps a staff.... More

Maam, while I can appreciate your point of view, you have absolutely no idea what it takes to run an establishment. Your exaggerations (yelling, shouting, berating) are duly noted. More

If you want Sicilian cuisine, look no further. The best meatballs i have had ever. Roseanne(chef/owner) get kudos up and down the menu. I didn't get the no "to go" box for leftovers at first, but now no issue. My partners and i love the place.

Thank you so much for your kind and generous thoughts. I'm so happy you and your colleagues enjoyed your meals. We do have small containers to wrap unfinished meals. We don't offer take out, however. I wasn't aware we had run out of the small containers and will make sure to check the inventory more frequently. Again, thank you for... More

Hands down this was one terrific breakfast and one heck of a find. Definitely to be placed on your list for breakfast or lunch while in NOLA. Located just outside the French quarter, near the Sheraton, we heard about it from a colleague at a conference, The Lombardo may have been the best breakfast I have ever eaten. Creamy grits,... More

Red Gravy has one of the most unique brunch menus I've seen, and since I visited with a large group I got to taste many things on it - all of them delicious. I loved that there was cheesy garlic bread and, appropriately, red gravy for dipping available on the table as we waited for our main dishes. The Sicilian... More

We had the Sicilian Egg Pie: Shirred eggs with cream & spices, baked in pasty. It came with some wonderful home fries that were moist and crispy at the same time and garlic bread with plenty of mozzarella. We also had the Umbria: Slow roasted pork, greens & provolone on crostini, with fruit. The pork was perfect and the well... More

Went for breakfast after reading the reviews here and must say that they have the best meatballs I've eaten! I used to travel cross country and have eaten meatballs from coast to coast and these are hands down the best! The "red gravy" sauce was simple and delicious. Definitely must visit if your in New Orleans!

We showed up at 1125 and asked if they were still serving a FULL breakfast, we were told yes. We were seated and once the waitress came over we asked AGAIN, are you still serving a full breakfast and AGAIN we were told YES, so we ordered our drinks. When the server put our drinks down we started to order.... More

It's unfortunate we were unable to accommodate your dining desires. Your arrival was a mere moments before our complete brunch menu changes to partial breakfast, partial lunch. On weekdays, we offer more lunch items at 11:30 to accommodate the many business people in our area. I suspect the server simply wasn't aware of just how close your arrival time was... More

Delicious meal. Great atmosphere. Owner was not happy that I ordered the red gravy on the side of my omelette...I corrected my error immediately. All in all it was awesome.

Got there at 8:45 on a Sunday; by 9:15, there were no tables left. This is a small restaurant. Michael, our server, was very fast, very friendly, and efficient. Portions were pretty big...the cannoli pancakes (which are rolled, crepe-style) looked like 2 beached whales, but were super tasty. The meatball-for-breakfast was a hit with my teenage son but even he... More
