We finally got a chance to dine at Red Gravy Café on Camp Street, just off Canal Street last night. It’s a wonderfully intimate place that’s narrow and deep, with an old brick wall running down one of the walls. Because of its size the tables are a bit small and close together, but it didn’t matter one bit. Thankfully... More

Brunch on Sunday. I love the variety. They had some great seasonal special items. I love meatballs and opted for the eggs on a crostini with mozzarella, meatballs and eggs over easy. Yum.

This was my second time at Red Gravy. Again, the food did not disappoint! I had a meatball (side), and a sandwich with mozzarella, basil, and pancetta. It was all very yummy. However, my friend ordered a cocktail with her breakfast. It was something fancy-very tasty, but very pricey. I mean we come from DC and the drinks can get... More

This restaurant was cozy and lovely inside. Our server was cheerful and attentive. The food was amazing. We had the chicken and waffles, which were tasty with the cranberry habanero syrup, and the Polpetta, which was my favorite. The hot chocolate was worth the cost. Make a reservation even for breakfast; don't just show up!

My sister and I were on our way out of town after staying at the Q & C, but didn't want to head back into the quarter for brunch and we weren't dressed up enough for Palace Cafe, so we stopped in here. I had the shrimp and grits (one of the specials) and she had some sort of sandwich.... More

Thank you so much for coming in. I'll be sure to pass your thoughts along to Spyder, our weekend brunch musician; he'll be pleased you enjoyed his music. Our coffee, a special bean roasted and ground weekly just for us is under $3 a cup. I'm happy you enjoyed the shrimp and grits. We use only fresh caught, never frozen... More

Went to breakfast on Friday morning December 5th at the Red Gravy, which had come highly recommended. Two eggs, bacon, one biscuit, some potatoes, and coffee for two: $25.00? really now it was highly ridiculous, and both my sister and I walked out of there hungry. We had agreed to share the plate, which costs an additional $1.25. Worst of... More

When you asked the server what was in the bakery basket he responded that it was a pumpkin streusel muffin. The price was on the menu and you ordered it. The muffin was split and grilled, buttered and presented with handmade blackberry lime jam. Your comment of "i'm a sport but not that big a sport' was sarcastic and uncalled... More

I read about this restaurant on trip advisor and we went and never would of thought meatballs and ricotta cheese in an omelette covered with red gravy (marinara sauce) would actually sound good but let me tell you it was AWESOME. It comes with garlic bread and fresh grits YUMMY

We have been to Red Gravy before and it has developed into one of our "go to" places. We were greeted at the door and seated right away ( the area is small so there has sometimes been a short wait). Reservations are accepted on Open Table which does help. Our server was right there to talk about drink and... More

The concierge at my hotel recommended that I go to The Ruby Slipper but there was a 45 minute wait so the hostess there recommended Red Gravy. I read the menu and thought I wouldn't like it b/c I am a breakfast traditionalist and well meatballs in omelets don't fit my rigid breakfast boundaries...I am so glad we came here.... More

Cool, funky place. I know people talk about it's Italian bent, but my breakfast -- with grits, their sausage and eggs and parmesan/garlic bread made their "marinara" taste more in the direction of a red-eye gravy. Maybe that's just me. But it was one of my more memorable meals during our recent trip to Nawlins. Wanted to go back but... More
