Good music, great food

My husband and I had an early reservation (5:45). Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, suggesting a beer my husband had never tried. The cocktail I had was a specialty of the house and was delicious. We ordered the stuffed dates, beer braised pork belly and the meat and cheese plate. The... read more

Great location on Frenchmen St., the live jazz during dinner was way too loud for any conversation. Food was just average, with extremely small portions even for tapas. Cocktails were good. Service was fair. This was our second chance on this restaurant, both were disappointing.

We loved this small restaurant because it had a great vibe – not stuffy or pretentious – and really nice, smiley staff. Great tapas offerings - be sure to try the steak and cake (beef on top of crab cake with béarnaise sauce), stuffed dates (bacon wrapped dates stuffed with blue cheese – I don't care for blue cheese yet... We had an 8:30, Sunday evening reservation. It was very busy and there were many people stopping by to try and get in the door. The hostess was seated outside, to control traffic in and out....even to the small bar area in the back. If you plan on coming here, I would highly suggest making a reservation. We were seated... Our group of four shared 6 different dishes and loved them all. A cozy restaurant with free music, Three Muses was also the best value for our visit to New Orleans. Well worth the walk over to Frenchmen St.

I don't know where to begin in praise of this Frenchmen Street venue. From the warm welcome at entering right through to paying the bill, our visit was enjoyable. Wait people were attentive and knowledgeable about both menu and wine choices. Music (in our case Ken Swartz--country blues guitar) was a perfect accompaniment where food shines. The Three Muses menu... More

Even the pickiest of eaters can find a treat at Three Muses. Our group loved the stuffed dates, pork belly, meat and cheese tray, and the champagne supernova drinks. The piano and bass musicians made the atmosphere laid back, which came in handy with the slower service to begin with. Don't come here in a hurry, because you are in... More

Our party of eight was a large one for the small area, but we had plenty of room and could enjoy the great music. We ordered one of almost every small plate offered and then ordered more of the ones we enjoyed the most. It was busy, but we made a reservation and didn't have to wait too long for... More

We thought the food here was great and loved listening to the live music. We were with a group of five, so got to try a lot of the menu! We had the steak and (crab) cake- amazing, Mac and cheese(yum), beet salad (so-so), calamari fries (definitely get), tempura shrimp (would skip), dates wrapped in bacon stuffed with blue cheese... Trendy Frenchmen St. restaurant with a great small plate and light entree menu, full range of cocktail choices, and innovative cuisine overall. We would definitely go back. Excellent service, prices and reasonable, and the location to our hotel was ideal. Take a look at their website...the four folks responsible for establishing this restaurant and obviously free spirits, and that energy... More
