Good simple food - late, late night!

We were told by a local after we had exhausted our feet walking looking for food after midnight in the lower French Quarter and Frenchmen Street to try "13." It is open until 4 AM we were told. My girlfriend had a tuna and cheese sandwich that was loaded with tuna on good bread. I had a chicken... read more

My husband and I visited here in between watching a gig at d.b.a and the spotted cat. We were looking for a cheap, quick and tasty eat and this place was perfect. No fuss seating, sandwiches and tater tots on the menu with mostly vegetarian fare. I had the bbq tofu sandwich on French bread which was AMAZING! Well seasoned... More

Food was great, drinks are reasonable priced. Try the tachos, tator tot nachos. They are awesome. Great place to eat on Frenchmen Street!

A bar-food option on Frenchman Street, serves loaded tater-tots (love tater-tots for some reason). Vegetarian options (kind of rare for New Orleans). Busy, not a large place, it is what it is. I might give this place 1 more star if it wasn't for the horrible, rancid smell emanating from this place. As soon as you walk in, it smells... More

We left Marigny Ballet late and needed dinner. Every place was standing room only. Stopped in here and had a great Ruben sandwich. Just to be clear, this is more like a bar with really good food instead of a restaurant that serves drinks. Everyone was very nice, service was great, I was impressed that the kitchen and servers all... More

The bartender, Beaux was such a great guy. He was so friendly and patient with some obnoxious customers that were next to us. He kept a smile on his face the entire evening. I loved their grilled cheese on sour dough bread. The location of this place is amazing. Will be back.

Frenchmen Street is eclectic in more ways than the music and food. It is also eclectic in the service dynamic that a tourist might experience. The Frenchmen Street locals, a mixed bag of bohemian artists, street people, and musicians, compose about half of the visitors on any given night to bars like this one. The other half are tourists. The... More

We walked into the bar and were greeted with, "No outside drinks allowed" from the bartender. She was extremely nasty. We explained that my girlfriend was only drinking water, not alcohol. Water hadn't been a problem in any other bar in New Orleans. We got another nasty response of, "Technically you can't bring any outside drinks in, not even water!"... More

We found this place because my coworker is a vegan. It's divy...and delicious! I had the frozen Irish coffee (and went back again later in the week to get my fix). I ate tachos, which is basically toppings on tater tots...the chicken and sriracha (Srirachos). The staff was friendly. The prices are excellent. Definitely recommend and they had lots of... More

Great pub on Frenchman's sreet. They mix good drinks and have a good wait staff. It is in the heart of the music district.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
