Good food with family time

We had lunch with 2 of my brothers and wife's, place was crowded, but service was above average on getting drinks and orders in, but it seemed longer to get the food. It was worth the wait for me and my wife, one brother had extra stuff on his order he could not eat, the replacement was quick and... read more

My wife and I visited Poppy's and had a great time there! It's hard to pinpoint the bets part of Poppy's - the food, service, beverages and general atmosphere was fantastic! I had the Half Muffaletta, and it was beyond delicious. The Abita was the perfect temperature and you could tell that the tap lines were clean because the taste... More

staff were friendly. didn't understand the concept of not having a set closing time. went on a sunday evening for dinner and found the restaurant closed. returned on tues. and found then open. perhaps due to the weekend they closed early. Food was good. not a fan of the Caesar salad, while quite large, lettuce was limp. good location to... More

The food is fairly good. I had a burger. It was actually one of the best burgers I've had in a very long time. You could tell it wasn't just a patty. My friend had the chicken and waffles. The service was great. I enjoyed it a day would come back. It's actually my second time coming here.

We had a quick lunch here on the way to the outlets. The fish taco's were delicious and the portions were huge. The cocktails were also really nice and the service was great.

This sports bar was located conveniently next to the Mississippi river next to great shopping and close to the Hilton Hotel. I was was able able to watch the NFL playoff games in a typical bar like atmosphere. I had a sandwich that was not too bad and and the TV viewing was adequate for the game

After getting of the steamboat we stopped here for some dinner. At first the waitress sat us in a really crammed area so we moved up to the bar. The service and food was great! Our server (I think his name was Ty) was excellent!

It looks like a little indoor/outdoor sports bar, but the service was great. Most eateries in New Orleans could care less if you are there or not, but this place really went out of their way to make sure you felt important and service was quick. Even during the CFP championship game, they were on their best game.

This place was situated behind our hotel and we really enjoyed it. The prices were reasonable, the staff was very friendly and the food was good! Best breakfast we had in NO!

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
