Description: Great bar and restaurant near Poydras that offers late night cuisine and a really laid back atmosphere. Upscale bar food like truffled mac n cheese, poutine fries, gourmet burgers, steak frites, and fried red beans and rice. Also has a whiskey bar, which is really unique.

Trying to find a place to host dinner for 17 is a challenge in New Orleans. The staff worked with me on a menu. The food was delicious! Though is was a bar, everyone from 25-70 thought the food and drinks were outstanding. Prices are a great value for the area

This place has horrible service. We were there yesterday. We ordered drinks and then the waiter literally took 30 minutes to come back to take our order. Not his fault, he was actually very nice to us. The place as grossly understaffed. We ended up paying for our drinks and left to go eat at another restaurant. Would like to... More

We were walking around New Orleans and this restaurant came highly recommended. It was not the easiest to find. Walking down Magazine street from Canal you will come to Capdeville Street. You will see a few chairs and tables outside. That is the entrance. I am really surprised that they don't have a sign hanging out into the street instead... More

This restaurant is off the beaten path, but it's so worth the trip. It's a block west of Poydras, just north of Magazine. We stopped here for lunch on our way to the WWII museum, which is a few blocks further west. Capdeville has a very eclectic menu, and all we ordered was wonderful. I had the steak salad, and... More

Capedeville is a great place for a New Orleans meal. Start at Canal Street, and then turn away from the madness of Bourbon Street and head about 5 minutes in the opposite direction. This small place will be inhabited by locals and people who have read its reviews on line, because they are all raves. Only problem- maybe- is that... More

Best hamburger in New Orleans. Hidden gem in the middle of the block. Service was top notch attentive without being overbearing. Fun place with old record album covers on the wall and a juke box. Easy walk from downtown hotels on the way to WWII museum. Be certain to make room in your schedule.

Our hotel was not far from this place, a small pub-style restaurant on a quiet side street. There were four tables of outside seating quickly occupied by Tulane students and we had a short wait for a table. Recommended if you are sitting inside is to ask for one of the booths, which are cozy niches that keep the noise... More

Capdeville is a great little out of the way spot which I recommend any NOLA fan should find! It was a short cab ride from the Doubletree on Canal and North Peters. We had reservations at 8 pm on a Thursday and we had our kids with us so I was concerned that it would be too "bar-ish" for them.... More

Per the wife, the shrimp tacos were fabulous! (5*). My burger was only good, but satisfying (3*). The truffle fries were a dud, not particularly hot, heavy, disappointing (2*). A drink (1881) was disappointingly weak. On balance, not bad, but the fries and drink left a downer impression. TripAdvisor should change 3 stars to "Good." Average is a mathematical characteristic... More

My nephew who just graduated from Loyola works there. We're regular visitors to New Orleans and know the city quite well, but had never heard of Cap De Ville before. This is a small restaurant. it seemed to be filled with locals. Mainly younger. Probably from the NOLA Entrepreneurs' office next door. The drink menu is little, but filled with... More
