Great bar and restaurant near Poydras that offers late night cuisine and a really laid back atmosphere. Upscale bar food like truffled mac n cheese, poutine fries, gourmet burgers, steak frites, and fried red beans and rice. Also has a whiskey bar, which is really unique.

Try the burgers!!

Capdeville was a recommendation from the concierge at our hotel. We were very pleased!! The place felt more like a "locals" bar/restaurant and we met some really nice people with lots of tips for exploring New Orleans! Burgers were amazing, staff was friendly, service was excellent! We were looking for something a bit more casual - chose this for good reviews and proximity to our hotel. I went with the mac and cheese with truffle oil and my husband chose the steak and frites. My dish was to die for and the couple of bites I had of my husband's steak were outstanding - classic garlic... More

I stumbled upon this place in September 2014. during a trip to NOLA in January 2015 my husband wanted a good burger so we went to capdeville. My husband ordered a regular burger and I had the Thai Peanut burger, their Saturday specical. We also shared the truffle Mac n cheese. Everything was delish!! So we had 2 burgers, Mac... More

Our phone told us that the Capdeville restaurant was close to the WW2 Museum, so we struck out for it. And were we glad we did. It looks like a bar, but the food is fantastic. Well-prepared with fresh ingredients, each dish we ordered was terrific. While we didn't order cocktails, the bar was well-stocked. I noticed about a dozen... More

This is a wonderful small restaurant. It is located off the main roads, but it has a great selection of very well prepared dishes, and service is outstanding. The place is casual, lots of young people and a bit loud, but the quality of the food is superb. Highly recommended.

Trying to find a place to host dinner for 17 is a challenge in New Orleans. The staff worked with me on a menu. The food was delicious! Though is was a bar, everyone from 25-70 thought the food and drinks were outstanding. Prices are a great value for the area

This place has horrible service. We were there yesterday. We ordered drinks and then the waiter literally took 30 minutes to come back to take our order. Not his fault, he was actually very nice to us. The place as grossly understaffed. We ended up paying for our drinks and left to go eat at another restaurant. Would like to... More

We were walking around New Orleans and this restaurant came highly recommended. It was not the easiest to find. Walking down Magazine street from Canal you will come to Capdeville Street. You will see a few chairs and tables outside. That is the entrance. I am really surprised that they don't have a sign hanging out into the street instead... More

This restaurant is off the beaten path, but it's so worth the trip. It's a block west of Poydras, just north of Magazine. We stopped here for lunch on our way to the WWII museum, which is a few blocks further west. Capdeville has a very eclectic menu, and all we ordered was wonderful. I had the steak salad, and...
