Description: We offer the best coffees from around the world roasted locally each week...
We offer the best coffees from around the world roasted locally each week and ground fresh daily! In addition to our extensive choices of coffee, espresso, and teas, we serve fresh made pastries, croissants, breads, muffins, and cinnamon rolls from the best bakeries in New Orleans. Our full menu of sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and salads is served all day, and this is a great spot to people watch overlooking St. Charles Avenue or use our free wifi to get some work done. We are one of only 2 places in New Orleans serving H&H bagels from New York, enjoy them with a flavored cream cheese or fill it with a breakfast sandwich.

Good coffee

Stopped here as it was just a short distance from the hotel I was staying at. The coffee was excellent. I ordered a bagel on more than one occasion and it was good. While I enjoyed my food and drink every time we went, I would suggest not stopping here if you were in a hurry. The staff was... read more

I'm sure most of the people there at the time were tourists like us, but this place still had a great local feel to it. Not just local as in NOLA, but local is in like just the few surrounding blocks or so. It was nice place to decompress, forget about Mardi Gras for a half-hour or so, and just... More

We stayed about 2 blocks from the Avenue Café on St. Charles. We visited there twice & found everything we purchased was very good & reasonably priced. There appeared to be a lot of locals eating there which tells you it must be good.

We stayed in New Orleans for 9 days and walked five blocks from our hotel every morning for coffee and bagel breakfast (rather than endure the hotel's "continental" offering). Excellent dark coffee is served in big mugs. The owner has run restaurants in SF and other places and obviously knows what he's doing. Good menu, lots of choices, many things... More

I agree with the other review, first it was convenient, then it was very good, exactly what we were hoping for both times we stopped. Very good service, good selection and good coffee, pastries and sandwiches.

First it was convenient, second, while it was "order at the counter and then sit down" the service was very attentive. Many items were familiar foods served in an imaginative way. We did not mind busing our own table.

Just a few blocks from our hotel, this coffee shop became out go-to breakfast place while we were recently in New Orleans. The coffee was excellent, and they have a great selection of bagels, muffins, and pastries. My husband particularly enjoyed the hazelnut cinammon cruffin. The decor is unpretentious, and the service (order at the counter) is friendly.

This is a really well thought out place. The selection of coffee choices is xcellent, and I really like the range of pastries and baked goods. Every choice - the range of sweeteners, milks, including soy and almond - is available in an unpretenious layout. I suspect I'll be going every day I'm in town. The staff is very friendly,... More

This is one of our normal breakfast and coffee stops. They have a nice selection of breakfast sandwiches, quiche, and pastries. The coffee is very good and I've never had a problem with the service here. It is you standard "order at the counter" and they'll bring it to you place. The wifi is also faster than one is used... We were in NOLA for the first time this summer and The Avenue Cafe was our daily start for coffee and a light breakfast. Some of the best coffee I've ever had and I think I tried just about everything. The bagels were delicious, but the almond croissant became my favorite. I've been home for nearly two months and I...
