Good pizza for the happy hour price

We were staying at the Roosevelt so we took advantage of this onsite John Besh restaurant. I was happy we made it in time for the happy hour prices. It's really a good deal. Half price pizzas! They're large enough to feed at least two people. We over ordered because I was expecting them to be... read more

Had an awesome post Mardi Gras dinner here. Staff was solid when they provided a custom option not on the menu. They could have said no, but came through with some great risotto. The roasted cauliflower with whipped feta and olive oil rivals any Italian app I've had anywhere. The bruschetta we ordered was unique and fresh. Wines by the... More

Amazing food and wonderful classy atmosphere in the Hotel Rosevelt in downtown. Terrific pastas, incredible pizzas and excellent drinks. This is a great place to go outside the French Quarter.

It was good. Not as good as I expected it would be. The rigatoni was excellent. The fried kale starter was AMAZING. No one was too excited about anything else we had. But it was right in the middle of Mardi Gras. They stuffed us in an awkward table so it was not a comfortable space to enjoy an expensive... More

Domenica is our favorite of all the John Best restaurants. Located in the Roosevelt Hotel, it's well-lit, with charming decorations and comfortable seating. Although the food would qualify for fine dining, the restaurant is casual and you would be comfortable bringing kids with you. Our server was super friendly and helpful - - she made several good suggestions and made... More

Tried the Muffaleta pizza and it was salty as expected and delicious. The service was good even though it was crazy busy due to parade night. My friend ordered the clam pizza which is a must on my next visit. 1/2 off glasses of wine on Thursdays 3-6 is a fanatic deal too!!

My husband visited New Orleans for three days and ate here two days in a row, because everything was so delicious. We are vegetarians and had a hard time finding any restaurant that offered more than fish and seafood. We finally found Domenica listed online and are so happy to have found what we think is the best restaurant in... More

We went for dinner on a busy weekend evening. Even though it was very busy when we arrived our reservation was honored immediately and we were seated promptly. Service was a bit choppy. Our entrees arrived before we were finished our salads. We sent them back and they were prepared again and then we had to wait. When we settled... More

Having lived in Italy for two years we were REALLY impressed with the pasta and sauces here. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good and all the staff we dealt with were efficient and personable. We had pizza on our first visit which was good but we really commented on the home made pasta sauce which was so good we... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
