Sno Bliz - Worth the Wait

We visited Hansen's Sno Bliz several times during our family trip to New Orleans. This place rocks! It is a family owned local establishment that sets THE STANDARD for snowballs. The wait is long and this is because it is so good...but, as we know, good things come to those who wait...I... read more

This was the best shaved ice I have ever had. There were so many combinations that you could make it was hard to decide. We all chose differently and all enjoyed our choices.

Originally from Hawaii, I had to try the New Orleans version of shave ice. The product did not disappoint. Melt in your mouth ice and tasty syrups. Unfortunately waiting in the hot sun for an hour put a damper on our experience. Service is friendly but excruciatingly slow. Would I go back again? Yes, but I would not wait if... More

One of the top two I've ever had (other than plum street!) They really do it right. Definitely worth the wait, and the money :)

Hansen's is not your ordinary sno-ball shop. The ice cold delicacy that they serve here appropriately has its own name (the "sno-bliz") as it is in a class of its own. On a recent weekend visit to New Orleans, Hansen's was #1 on my to do list. It is well off the beaten path (about a $20 cab ride from... More

Hansen's has existed longer than my parents have been alive. The Hansen family passed this small snowball shack down from generation to generation over the decades, and currently Ashley is running this place. A snowball is not the same as a snow-cone. Snowballs are shaved finer, more resembling fluffy snow. Hansen's makes their own syrups, and you cannot go wrong... More

Our friend who lives in New Orleans wanted to try Hansen's so we stopped one day. It was a nice cool treat on a hot day. We waited about 20 mins in line. I don't know if I would wait much more than that for one though. The place itself is quite quaint with lots of old memorabilia on the... More

I heard so many things about this place but it was kind of a dissapointment. We went about 5:30 on a Friday & had no line. Only had a couple of people in front of us. We already had our order written down ahead of time so I proceed to tell the 3 workers what I wanted just one sno-bliz... More

Hansen's had good sno-balls, and we were happy to wait in line at this NOLA institution. However the menu is confusing and hung all over the place. The worst offense though...the place is dirty. Really dirty! We were left wondering if it was safe to eat here. Clean it up just a bit and I would have said 4 stars.

You don't want to miss this one! Best snow cones in New Orleans! It was great standing in line, talking with the locals - college kids, executives, kids with the moms and dads, grandparents taking the g-kids for a snow cone after school. And oh those snow cones! Like they used to be made - with all sorts of specialty... More
