Friendly service but guess we didn't expect them to be sooooo sweet! Good thing we only bought 3 about $10! 2 chocolate and 1 regular. The regular one was inedible like pure sugar. Chocolate still sweet but not as sweet as the regular type.

We went there, because we heard the pralines were really good. They were a little sweet for my taste, but yes, if that's your thing, these really were a nice sweet treat. But when I saw the sea salt caramel turtles...I HAD to buy them! And when I got them home, and tasted one...I SOOOO wish I had bought more!... More

Every time I come to New Orleans, I make it a point to stop at Southern Candymakers for Pralines. No other store or brand can match their taste and freshness. I get the original creamy pralines - Yum, Yum, Yum! Yes, they are a bit pricey, but sooo worth the extra money.

Every time we visit New Orleans, we get some pralines (and a few other candies) from Southern Candymakers. We eat some and also give it as gifts. As far as the location goes, prepare to aggravate a cavity as soon as you walk in the door. The smell is incredible, and they do give samples. Pralines, chocolate, and dozens of... More

Wonderful candy store with house made pralines. If you don't know what a praline is, try one, you'll be hooked.

I've never been able to fine a Candy store that makes the "Tortues" & "Praline" as good as the Southern Candymaker. They use the freshest ingredients and the presentation of the gift boxes is super. Very fast mail order delivery. My order was ship the same day I place the order.

Here at Southern candies you're always greeted and the best part offered free samples of praline candy. If you want a variety of sweets this is the place. Raisins, nuts, oreos, the list goes on and are all dip in chocolate and even white chocolate. This is a must go to.

Never had pralines before, but spent my 4 days in New Orleans sampling pralines from several stores. These were by far the best tasting. Ordered a couple of boxes and an assorted box of treats as well. Definitely recommended!

These are by far the best pralines ever! Not soooo sweet and not at all gritty like others you find. All of their home made candies are some of the best I have ever eaten. At their Shop at 334 Decatur you can see candy being made and the smell alone is like heaven. The staff is charming and helpful... More
