So fresh and delicious, we love the peanut pierogues and milk chocolate turtles but everything is good. Two stores on both ends of the french quarter...another great thing to take home!

Me and my husband stayed in New Orleans after our cruise to finish our honeymoon. While out site seeing we came across this place. The first bite I took of the pralines I was hooked. Had to buy a box to take back home with us. Everything else looked good. I would recommend giving this place a try.

Walking into the shop and being able to watch (and smell that sweet, sweet aroma) is enough to get you in the mood. Loved every one I tasted, came home with two boxes for family.... not sure how they will leave my house though!

I've tried most of the big praline-makers around the quarter, but I keep coming back to Southern Candymakers. I love the original pralines, and never leave without grabbing a pound (or more...).

loved the fresh made pralines but most of all loved the glazed pecans. Not cheap but worth it as a special treat. Pralines run about $24 per pound. Highly recommended. I also purchased a box of pralines from another candy maker before I found this place and wish I had stopped here first!

From all the reviews I really thought this place was "the place" for pralines and candy but I was underwhelmed. It didn't help that the gentleman behind the counter was more concerned with voicing his political views than serving customers. That was pretty off putting. Overall, I thought their pralines were okay but nothing spectacular (I liked Laura's Candies pralines... More

While in NOLA, I shopped around for Pralines. I knew I thought the Southern Candymaker's pralines were the best, but before purchasing, I stopped and sampled all the other praline offerings, in the Quarter. The Southern Candymakers won hands down. Not cheap, but yummy. Oh, and their praline ice cream?!!!! To die for.

I'm a native to South Louisiana, and in the French Quarter, you will see every store claiming to have the best pralines. I've tried them all, and nothing can beat the original creamy praline at Southern Candymakers. They melt in your mouth! Seriously, get some!!!

The best pralines I have had. My Mom enjoyed the rum pralines and peanut butter pralines. We both agreed the original creamy was the real show stopper. It is a good thing I don't live here because I would spend a whole paycheck there.
