I decided to try pralines and read that Southern Candymakers were the best. I bought one of each variety. The candy was very pricey for what was basically sugar and nuts. I can say that I was not impressed by the pralines but I am not sure if it was the maker or just the product itself.

For all you candyholics like me, I never leave NOLA without a 2 pound box of pralines. I'm also on their mailing list & order candy & pecans throughout the year they are soooo good.

The people are friendly, offer samples and help with selection. Of course, I didn't need much help. The original pralines are SO GOOD! The first day I went I bought 3, one for each of the remaining days in NOLA. Those were gone by the end of the next day. I bought 6 more for the last day and to... More

The staff was great about let us try the different flavors (without us asking). The Pralines were very good, but I preferred their Almond Toffee. I preferred all the candy after we got it back to the hotel and were able to chill it a bit. The heat and humidity meant that it was all a bit softer than I... More

If you like pralines, then you must get them here. They have the best. The only thing is they are a little pricy, but so is the food in New Orleans. Would return for the best.

We stopped here after reading the reviews and we're not disappointed. Splurge and buy the fresh ones from the case - you will not be disappointed. They even gave us fresh ones right off of the line, and then shrink-wrap pedal them for our trip home. My favorite was the chocolate ones, and my husband loved the rum ones. We... More

My husband and I have been to New Orleans many times, we have family in the area. Have had many different pralines and candy in the Crescent City, Southern Candymakers is by far the BEST!! They don't just have pralines, everything they make is delicious. I would be remiss not to mention how friendly and courteous the staff is, if... More

Every time I'm visiting NOLA I make sure to stop in. I always bring boxes back for those who didn't get to join me. They will shrink wrap for free if you ask. Tried several flavors but always go back to the original creamy. Melts in your mouth GOOD! You won't be disappointed! The best pralines in town!!
