Good Food, but Small Portions

This restaurant has an upscale atmosphere without being too pretentious. The food was tasty and presented in an attractive manner. My only complaint would be the portion size. For the money that I spent I was hoping for a meal that left me satisfied.

The food was good. However, the turkey bacon was very dry (like a thin piece of jerky and appeared to have been microwaved). The breakfast buffet needs more non-pork options, seafood, chicken, etc.

We happened upon this restaurant on Christmas night as we couldn't find any other restaurants to get into that weren't full up with reservations. We were only in town for two days and had just arrived a few hours earlier. We had no idea that all the good restaurants in town would be full up. As we were walking we... More

I was staying in the attached hotel and had a super early flight, so I wanted to eat early and nearby on my last night. After reading the numerous great reviews of this place and seeing it as a recommended place in my guidebook, I figured I couldn't go wrong with an early dinner at MiLa. Wow was I wrong.... More

Under the previous guidance of Alison and Slade, MiLa was a gem of a restaurant in New Orleans. On a recent visit since their departure, MiLa is a shadow of its former self and really disappointing. Very safe, corporate preparations and presentations with no imagination or soul. Really corporate wine list with lots of supermarket favorites; again, really safe. But... More

The service was quick, and courteous. The food is reasonable priced for a hotel downtown. We both had the Bourbon Pork Chop. While it didn't come with a salad, the portion was generous! The vegetables were full of flavor and the focaccia bread was made in house! Would recommend without hesitation. (Didn't see or ask for a child menu)

Cooked to order food, and very good service. Although we ordered individual breakfast, buffet for $17.50 was plentiful, with many selections.

Located near the French Quarter and near the Saenger Theatre and the Orpheum Theatre. Excellent food. Good service. Friendly staff. Perfect for pre-theatre dining.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
