We tried Santiago's after hearing great things about it from a lot of locals. They have 2 kinds of chips for the homemade salsa that are excellent. I get a chicken burrito, my husband usually get steak something, and my daughter loves the pork. IF you can finish your meal, you leave stuffed. We almost always have left overs for... More

My husband and I and our three kids ate here while visiting the Dunes. I had the pork chimichanga and it was excellent. The pork was very flavorful but their chips and salsa stole the show. The chips were crunchy and better than any I've ever had. My son had the quesadilla and loved it. We all agreed we would... More

If your passing through this area east of the big city, Chicago, on your way north or south get off the big road and head in to downtown, Old Porter for a Mexican treat. Their flour tortilla chips are fantastic along with their home made salsa. I choose their pablano chili rellenos, my favorite Tex-Mex dish. I was not disappointed,... More

I think the food is terrific, it comes quickly, and the atmosphere of this Mexican restaurant is festive and fun. It is inexpensive and the salsa is fantastic. I always get a carton to take home too.

The food here is excellent. the starter of chips and salsa is fresh and the chips are crispy and good tasting. One of the big marks is that if you want something that is not on the menu, they will make it for you. The restaurant is a little hidden away if you are from out of the area but... More

Well, I must say this place was packed when we got there, so maybe we are missing something. Service was terrible - after we were seated, other people ordered drinks and were served well before we were. Salsa had very VERY strong onion taste, chips were just ok. Margaritas (made with wine, which I have had before and don't mind)... More

This is my favorite Mexican place to eat, everything is fresh not massed produced. The chips are made and not bought, the salsa is made fresh. The actually make there refried beans and don't serve it from a can this is the only place i will eat the beans at. Never had a meal that I did not like, I... More

Good food, good prices, nice atmosphere. What more can I say? If you enjoy real Mexican food instead of the mass produced stuff, this is the place for you.

Santiago's has the best chips 'n salsa north of the border! Their pintos are really homemade! Consistently Santiago's makes their food fresh daily. Their meats - from the chicken to the el pastor are always shredded and seasoned w/ truly Mexican flavors. Their sopas and pescadores are also prepared in the Mexican fashion. Their cheese is really Chiuahuaha (sp?). The... More
