You would have a hard time finding a better restaurant in Chicago. Unique meals and spectacular desserts. In my opinion, close the the dining experience at the French Laundry
My husband, daughter and I spent a pleasant evening enjoying delicious food in the quiet and pleasant atmosphere at Tallgrass. We selected the 4-course dinner and savored each dish as it was brought out. We all tried a variety of choices and were always pleased. We look forward to returning to this special gem.
Tallgrass is without a doubt one of the finest restaurants I have ever been to.If you fancy yourself a foodie you owe it to yourself to go before it's gone. One of the few restaurants I can compare it to is Victoria and Albert's at the Grand Floridian in Disney World. One of the unique things I enjoy is you... More
a wonderful experience. It is so refreshing to have this fine restaurant maintain it's very high standard for top cuisine year after year. Dining here is always a culinary adventure of new ingredients, innovative taste combinations and perfect presentation. The varied dining choices are always enhanced by their excellent wine selection. Service is always understated and personalized to your needs.... More
I'll start on the positive...my husband and I were able to try new foods and flavors that we would not normally have had (capon, lobster lasagna, French wine, etc,.). It is for that reason that we chose this restaurant. We had the option of choosing a 3, 4, 5, or 7 course dinner and we chose 5 (a friend told... More
Tallgrass is an amazing experience. Upon arrival, you have to knock to enter the restaurant which I think is such a cool thing-it makes you feel like you're part of a secret club. Coats are taken and you're led into one of their two dining rooms. The downstairs one feels a little 80'sish and outdated, but the upstairs once is... More
My husband and I have eaten in many fine restaurants around the world. We would rate this in the top 20! It was a totally wonderful experience. My husband took me for a birthday celebration and everything about the evening was special - the ambience, service, presentation and fresh ingredients in entrees that delighted the palette. We each chose a... More
This place is the finest gem in Lockport - definitely a step above all other restaurant/bars in that area. Yes, a tad bit too formal, yet truly romantic. I've recommended many to Tallgrass over the years, and all have been well pleased and would return again (as do I). Quite pricey ($$$) but well worth it for special occasions.
This was our first time dining in Lockport and this restaurant was a surprise. From the homemade breads to the diverse assortment of entrees we chose a 4 course meal including a dessert. We enjoyed all the dishes except one, which they offered to exchange for another dish The servers were very professional and the atmosphere was like being in... More
Great ambience, delicious food. Absolutely the finest ingredients. For the entree, they bring out covered dishes and Voila! your entree appears. What was quite surprising was that one person in my party ordered the ravioli and he only got 3 -- hardly enough for a grown man. Honestly, it should have been AT LEAST double that amount, don't you think?
