Have eaten dinner here several times while in Madison on business. Best Beer selection and really fun atmosphere. Always crowded. I have usually eaten a cheese plate from appetizer list. Love the cheese soup as well. Can't go wrong with any of the meals (having tasted what my dinner partners have ordered as well).

Was told to visit this place by some locals and they were right. This place has the best cheese curds! Menu is typical higher end bar grub. Lots of good drink choices, great atmosphere and downtown location

Having eaten more cheesecurds than I would like to admit, these are the best. I would come here just for the curds. The staff was great and the place is nice and clean. A view of the Capital is really nice too.

Cool pub in downton Madison. Well worth stopping by for lunch or drinks. Wend on a weekday lunchtime on business and staff were very helpful. Wifi also useful.

Great location and there always seems to be a line when we go. When we were finally seated I ordered a sandwich which was delicious. Crispy bread and a warm turkey in the center. Perfect for lunch. Had haystack on the side which was greasy and unappetizing so that was left behind. Husband enjoyed his burger bad says that it... More

Casual dining just off the main square, downtown Madison. Great beer selection and nice choice of entrees. Fried cheese curds were great.

Back in the 60's, when the family would go out for Sunday dinner up in Marinette County and all the adults were talking about Lord knows who and I was a pudgy 12 year old, the relish tray was my best friend. Here at the Old Fashioned I was brought back to the days of Ritz crackers and cheese spreads.... More

This is local flare at its best. If you want a bit of Wisconsin, come eat at the Old Fashioned. Get the cheese curds for an appetizer!

Our service was slow and the food was not good. I had mac and cheese that was supposed to have bread crumbs on, it had none. I was also asked if I wanted broccoli or something else for the side, but was never told I would be charged $3.00 for it. Those sneaky questions, to make money, are a real... More

The food was great! The cocktails were fantastic! The place was crowded and we had a bit of a wait to get seated. I'm not sure if they take reservations but if you plan on going during peak hours I would try to get them. We will definitely be back next time we are visiting.
