Normally I would be most satisfied to write a review regarding the wonderful dining experience which Sardine provides day in and day out, however I am compelled to share another great attribute- the Happy Hour. Tuesday through and including Friday, Sardine offers from 4-6pm half price east coast oysters as well as $3.00 house red, white and rose. Additionally a... More

Nice outdoor dining spot (although they would benefit more from tall tables that would afford more of a view). The warm duck confit salad was so over-dressed as to be almost inedible, as was the prosciutto wrapped asparagus dish. The seared scallops were small but quite nicely done however.

We had a perfect meeting place to be displayed to our Sons very special girlfriend. A little too noisy, but the food was solid.

We celebrated a friend's 80th birthday here and had a fantastic meal with great service. The halibut was perfect, as well as the oysters, salads, and desert! The staff were especially accommodating with our requests for a quiet table, with easy access. Thank you Sardine!

This is a noisy, fun spot overlooking the water (although there is a parking lot between the restaurant and the lake). The entrance is not on Williamson Street but behind the building on Machinery Row where there is ample parking. The food is solid--standard bistro items, well prepared and presented. The hazelnut chocolate ganache was a definite hit with my... More

.. for (usually) excellent service and food. Like many places, occasional inconsistencies occur but I can forgive them. Sardine is a well run establishment. Neat dining areas, too, that blend well into the bar scene. Noise level can be high for some people. Come earlier for a quieter, calmer experience. Most recently we enjoyed Restaurant Week dinner. Wine pairings were... More

We were visiting the Madison area for my birthday and were given Sardine as a recommendation from a friend who lives here. My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed the evening and food. We started off with drinks - red derby and Hacker and an appetizer - Piccolo fritto. For dinner I got Grilled barramundi and he got Pan seared... More

It's popular for sure! But: it is very very noisy! Can hardly carry on a conversation while eating. the waitstaff is depressing...no one smiles, or even greats you, seem to hate working there. The food is nicely presented, and overall was tasty. Still not going back!

Delicious and varied menu for Restaurant Week although more expensive than other restaurants ($30 vs $25) for dinner. Service was excellent. Great value coming rom Chicago

Lovely lovely brunch with Renae Danger, an amazing hostess and tender of the bar. We had such a nice time sitting and chatting; she took wonderful care of us.:) She made the brunch a sweet time on a very busy sunny Sunday Bloody, Mimosa, eggs, grits, bacon - say no more. Thank you, Mary and Ned
