My husband took me to breakfast here... it was quite good :) I loved the laid-back atmosphere! Enjoyed the pancakes and coffee.

Expect to wait in long lines. Expect well-worn furniture. Expect to carry your own food and clean up after yourself when you're done. There are free refills on coffee, though, if you want to tromp back down the stairs and pour your own. Lazy Jane's has been one of my favorite go to places for years. Coaxed into a former... More

People who like this place call it "funky" and think it has an "interesting" ambiance. Another way to describe this place is as a local neighborhood cafe and bakery that doesn't do anything special. The pancakes, eggs, bacon, scones and other baked goods are all average, and there is nothing that interesting about the spot, unless you think random paintings... More

There are lot reasons to like LJ from the daily breakfast specials to the healthy hot cereals to the best scones in town. But what draws me most mornings is the coffee roasted by Boom Brothers in Milwaukee. I cannot describe it adequately - words would not do it justice. Lets just say it is the best cup of coffee... Interesting atmosphere but amazing homestyle food. We are fans!! Tip: Just be aware that Lazy Jane's accepts cash only, so come prepared.

"Funky" best describes this eastside Madison favorite. For us it's a hike across town but there really isn't anywhere on the westside we like as much. We usually order a homemade scone and some of Lazy Jane's hot, strong coffee while we wait for our cooked breakfast, which tends to arrive promptly even when the place is heaving with customers.... Visited on a Sunday morning and there was a line outside the door. Don't bother going in, that's the line to order your food. When you order they give you a light up pager then you sit and drink your excellent coffee. When your food is ready you pick it up yourself. Friendly people, excellent tasty food and most importantly... More

Stopped in for Sunday brunch. Cheerful, efficient staff, eclectic bohemian vibe. My husband and daughter liked their chorizo scramble and pastries. I did not like the chicken salad croissant sandwich. It was salty and boring. Coffee was very good. All pastries are made at bakery.

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. I love the funky tables. You do order at the counter and get your own food. If that isn't a issue for you the food is always amazing and the staff are friendly and quick. They have gluten free, and vegan options. Well worth the visit any day of the week!

Lazy Jane's serves a lovely breakfast, and their scones are heavenly. There is no table service--when your order is ready, they either shout your name or give you a pager and you pick up your order.Seating can be a little iffy sometimes once the place gets crowded. If all you're looking for is a scone, they have a bakery annex... More
