Delightful breakfast spot with fresh offerings

The food is a mix of American breakfast/brunch faire with a fresh take on farm-to-table. The fresh mixed green salad with vinaigrette was a delightful treat with the ham and gruyere omelette. The home fries were well done and the coffee was strong and fresh (but you have to help yourself). No... read more

I love a good breakfast to start the day, and this place is rated as a very good breakfast place. Went this A.M. as they opened, and got a bacon/spinach/cream cheese omelette with good potatoes and wheat toast. Add in a nice strawberry jam, and smooth local coffee, and it's a winner! BUT, be aware you probably will have the... More

I went to Marigold with a few friends for brunch for the first time, and it was so worth the wait. I had wanted to go for a while, and I'm glad I finally got there. We had just beat the rush on a Sunday morning, and it was still packed! I had the pear pancakes with honey butter, bananas,... More

I recently ate her for a business meeting. I ordered the pork loin with sour cherry sandwich. It was lovely. The place was busy and noisy but sitting outside helps. Good service.

We've come to Marigolds for several times over the years and haven't been impressed. Today was the last time. Our breakfast of almost $16, without tip, consisted of two small, flat buttermilk pancakes, a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal with strawberries (not the fresh market in season), and two cups of coffee. The pancakes did include real Wisconsin maple syrup but... More

In Madison on business and Marigold's was recommended for breakfast; I was not disappointed. Great food; fun college town atmosphere. I had the artichoke omelet with rosemary toast. It was so good that I returned the next morning and had the exact same thing. Not for a quiet place for a meeting; but a fun place with great breakfasts.

A must for Madison travelers, especially at breakfast. Show up early on Saturday morning (doors open at 7) to beat the farmers market crowds that later mob the place.

I absolutely love Marigold's breakfast. Sweet or savory, all of the food is so scrumptious. I usually get something off of their daily specials when I eat there. Unlike most traditional breakfast spots, their side potatoes are great. As a warning, it is usually busy, so expect a line, but it does move quickly.

Food is amazing but beware, because of the amazing food, it is always busy. If you go for lunch during the week, go after 1230 otherwise you are not likely to get a seat.

We were staying in Madison for the weekend and this restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. We were delighted to find a place that had something a little different from the standard eggs and bacon and toast available at most breakfast places. I had the barley saute which was delicious and unusual - barley topped with sauteed greens and... More
