Very casual, you stand in line to order and they bring your food to the table, if you can find one. We got in around 1 pm, on Saturday, and it was busy. They serve breakfast until 3 pm, so the menu offerings were many. Very fresh ingredients, fun to visit. Not expensive.

We just enjoyed our first brunch at Marigold Kitchen. What a tasty treat. We especially enjoyed the mixed greens and light vinaigrette that were served with our meals (this isn't a usual offering at most Wisconsin restaurants for breakfast/brunch). My friend and I had omelettes with Marigold potatoes and sour dough toast, and my husband had the quiche. We all... More

Looking for a late breakfast is sometimes hard and selections are limited but not at this restaurant. My husband and I were surprised at the wonderful selection of breakfast items served all day. We had the granola pancakes with fresh berries and a special syrup. The servings were large and very filling. We would definitely come back here to try... More

Went there for the first time today with friends and will not go back. It was busy and that is wonderful but don't ask for ANY variance at all. I wanted a ham and cheese omlette and they cannot navigate that. Order an omlette and you get a bunch of ingredients you don't want or like. They offer to remove... More

Love, love, love this place. Small place filled with people who love their jobs. Fresh, hot, made-to-order breakfast every time we visit Madison. Probably the only place we visit every time we are in Madison. (Our daughter is a Badger!) Fresh squeezed OJ - Yum.

A great little cafe off the square in downtown Madison. Was here around 8am on a weekday, and it was busy, but not crowded. No issues finding a table. Friendly staff and fantastic food. Had the two eggs (subbed whites) with bacon, the marigold potatoes, and toast. Great flavors in the potatoes, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Enjoyed, and... More

I thought the pastries were very good and the scones and coffee just delicious. However, I thought the breakfast left a lot to be desired. I ordered two eggs and they came with one small piece of toast which felt insulting. I am not sure we will ever return for the breakfast but will always take the pastries to go.

Wow! So much flavor in the chilaquiles, sorta felt like it was straight out of Mexico. A little pricey though and they forgot the avocado I paid for. Great view of the lake down the street and a fun place to just waste the morning away drinking coffee.

Even though they screwed up my order and put mustard on my sandwich when I asked for it without, I was able to eat around it and it was still very good. I liked the water dispenser they had, too. The decor was charming.

Ate here for Saturday brunch around noon. Had the breakfast choices - pancakes, French toast, frittata and omelette. I sampled everyone's plate and they were all excellent. The strawberry lemonade (non-alcoholic) was very good, but I was shocked to find out that it was $4 per glass (I only had one glass). Would recommend stopping in here to try out... More
