This is a great place, which I like because of its proximity to my hotel. They are open late (2 a.m.) and have a really good pub menu. The staff is really friendly and I've met some really nice locals here as well. If you're ever in the neighborhood, check them out.

Fish was almost burnt and greasy. Fries ice cold. Husbands food (shrimp & fires) hot and good. I have eaten here half a dozen times and once I had a good burger. I will not be eating here ever again. Sorry.

I stopped in to the Blue Moon after a very long day and a formal dinner. I was happy to get out of my formal black dress, put on a pair of jeans and a comfie top, and head over for a glass of beer with some friends as the evening wore down. The Blue Moon has an excellent supply... More

Nice spot. Friendly staff. Interesting decor. Good food. I ordered the Chicken Cordon Bleu half expecting it to be a microwaved Sysco product. Instead, it was clearly prepared on-site. Really quite tasty. Wife and daughter thought their meals were quite good as well. Fries were tasty and not greasy. Good selection of beers. We were very happy to find this... More

The "average price" is $8 before they charge you extra fees. You need to carry your ID with you when you go because they request proof of age even if you only plan to eat food. If you don't have your ID you can still get carry out. What they don't tell you until after is that they only accept... More

I use to go to this bar all the time during college. Then Friday I revisited it....and it's the same as I remember! It is about 1-2 miles off of campus, so you don't get the crazy atmosphere. It is peaceful but always has a couple fun people at the bar. They always have great local brews on tap and... More

We were there for the Friday special of grilled Walleye. This was also offered as fried Walleye. This dinner was excellent. The fish was flakey and moist and had lots of flavor. The fries were good as was the coleslaw. The dinner roll was on the dense side but good. Loved this dinner! The service was great and we will... More

Second trip to Madison came here on a recommendation. Agree with other posts that the food was good My main issue is the cleanliness. Tables had a layer of "ick," floors needed swept and mopped, and the women's restroom smelled like sewage. Won't be my first choice the next time in town.

If all you want is a good beer with some friends, this is as good a place as any. But ... pass on the food offerings! They advertise 'Best burgers in town' .. They are not .. in my opinion!

This is a local restaurant for me, and one of my favorites in the UW campus/hospital complex/near west side area. More than a bar, it is a local gathering place which is even family-friendly. The specialty here is burgers, and the quality is excellent. The same family own a well-known steakhouse, so they know beef and always use the best.... More
