You'll find this place and wonder, is this it? It's very unassuming from the outside. Yes, it does say 'Weary Traveler' rather casually on the side of the building. What appears to be the front door is not, and you must enter on the side. The building is vintage, the neighborhood is funky, and the menu is quite good. There... More

We have gone to the Weary a few times for drinks or for dinner. The atmosphere is casual - it's usually tight quarters and on the loud side. Typical bar food choices have some flair added and use high quality ingredients to make them special. Our favorites are the Bad Breath Burger, the goulash, and the Yukon gold potatoes.

Ate here on a sunday for lunch. I had the breakfast sandwich. It had super fresh ingredients on a homemade bun. REALLY delicious. My friend had a salad that came on like a 20" plate and was just filled with huge portions of fresh vegetables and was really good as well. Wonderful bloody marys. Service was good, seems like the... I'll start by saying I'm from Cincinnati, where we have a great mix of independent restaurants and I am a bit spoiled by our choices. Moving our youngest to Madison, WI this weekend and while touring the area, we stumbled upon the Weary Traveler and I do mean stumbled upon, as there is barely a sign. We arrived at a... More

I love a good medium hamburger and this one was a little to cooked for my taste but no one will make it like I like it anymore. The meat was wonderful with cream cheese! Everything is better with cream cheese. My daughter had the steak sandwich which was good but she agreed that the burger was the best. I... More

We walked to this restaurant from downtown, about a 20 minute walk, through a funky area of older homes, restaurants and businesses - lots of others walking around, several other places with people sitting outside eating - super area! It's an older, dark inside place, full of character - seemed like a lot of locals. Our meals was very tasty,... More

Seriously, one of the best burgers I've ever had. The combination of flavors was amazing! Great homemade soda, great beer selection. This place is cool and funky inside, cool eclectic decor. Service was very good, laid back place with great food.

Had bad breath burger, which was pretty good. Apps, and sides were just ok. Good funky atmosphere makes it worth the visit.

I've been here several times, most recently to try the reuben. It was a tasty sandwich (but too much bread in my opinion), so next time I think I'll return to my usual Bad Breath Burger. The beer selection is great. I bought my trusty commuter bike from this location many years ago, back when it was Willy Street Bikes.... More

If you ever are in Madison Wisconsin and you have arrived early (5:00 pm) or late (1:00 am) and need a good meal at an inexpensive place, here is your answer. It is quintessential Madison, at its best. And the title has it right, it's for you weary travelers out there who need some TLC. West of the Andes sandwich... More
