Too bad this was great Italian for years. Sad to see it go. Another victim of apartments over food. The state economy didn't help either. Oh Well.........

Gino's is a small Italian deli right next to Home Depot. They sell fresh Italian groceries and offer a good selection of food goodness. I came here for lunch quite often because it's really cheap and tasty. I'm a big fan of Gino's lasagna and their sandwiches are amazing. The Italian sub, the hot meatball sandwich, and the hot Italian... More

I go here just to get the Chicken Marsala. I have yet to have it done better. They also have other Italian dishes that are also excellent. The service can be hit or miss. Sometimes you get treated like an old friend and other times you get someone that is just doing a job and is indifferent towards you. It... More

Gino's is predictable -ok pizza and pasta and ok (little high) prices. I go because it reminds me of being here in the 80's. The servers are always charming and kind. The pasta is pretty good, sometimes a little over cooked. I never have to wait and I know it will be open after a show. I haven't found a... More

I was excited to find a restaurant that delivered Chicago style pizza, but to my dismay, the pizza was nothing like a Chicago style. There was crust on the top of the pizza, not sauce. The crust was burnt and very overdone. Needless to say the cheese was hard as a rock-I could barely cut the pizza into slices. $25... More

I came to Gino's on a recommendation. As with all Italian restaurants, I try out the Veal Parm first, which to me is a big test. After about 20 after ordering, after appetizers and salad, they come back and say they are out of veal. This is a first for me. Usually I am told when I order, or may... More

Seeking a spot to dine in Madison on a Friday evening I decided to accept the lure of the sign above this establishment that notes it's been serving customers since 1963. An Italian meal sounded terrific. When I entered an employee took notice of me -- and walked away without so much as extending the simple courtesy of a greeting.... More

Not even close to the expectation created by locals. We had a cheese and pineapple pizza. (we didn't do any of the meat toppings as we went on a lent Friday). But the cheese, (which was a lot on the pizza), slid off the dough as you pick it up.It had to be eaten with fork and knife. The service... More

Depends on what kind of pizza you like. Eggplant was greasy last time I was there. There are many choices for pizza on State street.

We almost didn't go to this restaurant after reading the reviews and its ranking among other Italian restaurants. Wow, am I glad we went anyway. The restaurant was already busy at 6:00 but we were seated promptly and even though just 2 of us, given a large, very comfortable booth they could have easily saved for a party of 4.... More
